Played WoW since the beginning. Had some ok experiences on the servers where I played. Then had a break for a while and came back to play on the server where most of my chars are stored - Auchindoun Alliance. Now this is a barren wasteland where cities are mostly empty due to so few alliance on the server cluster - not the kind of MMO experience I was expecting. Found a good guild to have some fun raiding again, but eventually guild broke up partly due to difficulty recruiting. Running around in the landscape are mostly all alone, eventually you see some players at the dungeons etc. from the server cluster.
Now one of my characters migrated to Ravencrest - a whole other story. This server and cluster is very dense crowded. Found city overloaded with people and also out in the zones. Felt like an MMO again where other people played and made me wish I had all my chars on a not dead server cluster.
So reason for posting here is to ask why this is not a priority to fix? Dont need all clusters to be equal by any means, but please make sure that all are atleast viable to some degree and not barren wastelands for some and thriving oasis for others full of people.
This can be done by many diffrent ways so let me make a few suggestions:
-
Make a mega EU cluster where all are free to join guilds at any server independent to the server they are located. There are currently restrictions to this even though it would technically be possible. This would of course mean xrealm trading should be possible, but it allready is between clusters as I understand it and would really help the situation.
-
Make char transfers possible to take all chars with you for same amount. I have like 10 characters that I would like to have access to, but transfering each for like 10 eur each time is not reasonable at all. Did so one time with my char to Ravencrest and found that server & cluster to be a whole other story and could bring some joy back into the game for me instead of being stuck on a dead cluster.

Rearrange clusters to adjust for population. That would of course have implications for guilds and the individual players if forced so it would have to be voluntarily for each player. Now the problem here is the incentive for players to move away from Ravencrest to eg. Auchindoun is not there. Back in the past there were some free migrations from overcrowded realms which Ravencrest will probably be again come Shadowlands. But the alternative of being stuck on a dead realm is not super attractive either. So the reasonable approach to that could be to merge eg. 2 lesser clusters to make population more reasonable compared to the others. That would not have any negative implications on anyone but would rather benefit all.
Please let me know what you think. Really wish this could be sorted somehow.
