Enchanting Vellums?

Here’s a wild idea: with all the Enchanting bots running around, why not just add Enchanting Vellums to the game?

They would:

  • Make Enchanting no longer be useless
  • Make Enchanting actually be profitable for the average player (aka non-bot)
  • Harm a bit of the bots’ profits

I know the “no changes” crew will find some excuse to refuse this, but what do normal players think?

To put useable enchants in the auction house?
Would be a win - win situation i guess.

But if you want profit then just craft wizard oil and put it in the AH

Yep, Enchanting Vellums allow you to enchant a scroll that can then be sold on the AH.

As it now stands, bots spam the trade channel 24/7, and anyone looking to profit from Enchanting has to sit in a city for long hours competing against them.

Vellums would work similar to other professions, in that you can “craft” your stuff and then list them on the AH.

Enchanting bots, what?

Also how would the vellums help in any way? If there are enchanting bots then the vellums would help them more than legit players cause with the vellums the bots can flood the AH with enchants. I guess it’d help players who aren’t enchanters cause they could buy the enchants off the bots for cheaper…

You either don’t have an Enchanter character or have way too much free time, but either way, you can ignore everything if you don’t know about it and just compare Enchanting with other crafting professions (any crafting profession, actually).

Every crafting profession can have the player craft the item and then list it on the AH without having to sit in a city spamming Trade chat. The only profession in which this isn’t possible is Enchanting.
Vellums fix this.

And btw, I’m assuming you don’t realize most people selling summons are bots too?

PS: “Bots” is the go-to word referring to people who are involved in selling Gold. Most of the times they are indeed using bots, when you see them in the outside world farming endlessly, other times they are providing services, such as Enchanting or Summons, in which case usually a person is controlling the character.

Pfff my dude here thinks a person selling enchants is the same as a bot selling enchants… For your information, no, “Bots” isn’t a go-to word for things that aren’t bots. Using the word “Bots” just to try and flog your agenda isn’t the moral high ground here…

Now you still haven’t explained how the enchanting vellums would help legit players over bots… Was that your goal? That people will praise you just cause you used the word “Bots” in your topic? If anything, I’d argue that Enchanting Vellums enhance the botting experience. It will give bots a nice method of selling enchants without having to talk to people. It would also help the AH bots try and scam legit players even more by overcharging.

I eagerly await your explanation on how enchanting vellums help legit players over bots.

You have a hard time reading a whole post, so let me highlight it again for you:

Now think, and then redo your answer

EDIT: also, your persistence in referring to bots makes you look like a gold seller yourself. Not cool

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I think there positive and negative aspects of enchanting as is today:
+Hunting for an enchanter with a rare recipe is an unique experience.
+There are not that many enchanting bots, personal enchanting is much harder to script than ah botting.
+By this change you put more power into the 1c under cutter bots.
-Availibility of enchants are low on less populated servers.

Also keep in mind not all profession are made with equal profit potential, I don’t think it is bad that alchemy is much more profitable than enchanting (or blacksmithing or engineering)

Yeah, you can try and keep evading the question and look even dumber or you could actually give some kind of answer.

This doesn’t answer how it benefits legit players over bots… This is just a backup example you made that doesn’t hit the same point at all…

“Oh you can sell items on the ah”
versus

That isn’t the same argument at all… that is a quality of life change to make enchanting more convenient. That isn’t an argument about how it hinders bots…

I eagerly await your explanation on how enchanting vellums help legit players over bots.
