Enduring the game : the class gameplay

In this expansion, PvP is cool from my point of view, but some things should be boost

To make the game attractive again, I think they should

Fix the class gameplay

Class customization is still too limited in my opinion. In pvp, players all use the exact same talents. Blizzard needs to find a way to make class customization much deeper by offering many more options

Perhaps they could start by introducing a fourth specialization for every class or adding two to three extra branches to the talent trees, so players can differentiate themselves and avoid feeling like clones of each other

While the current gameplay is more diversified and customizable than in recent expansions, it needs to go even further. Of course, Blizzard would need to maintain class balance, but they could use AI for that.

It’s also important to continue adding new races to diversify the player base and to keep introducing new classes

For the next two classes, I’d recommend the Tinker and the Necromancer.

The Tinker
• A technological class that could use gnomish/gobelin machines like bipedal demolishers, explosives, and other tech-based tools. It would be incredible.
• It could have Tank, Damage, and possibly even Healer specializations.

The Necromancer
• Similar to a BM or demono lock, focused on summoning pets
• Like the Demon Hunter, they could temporarily transform into a Lich or summon a Lich briefly, much like the DH sometimes channels Illidan.

2 damage spe, one on massive invocation like demono, other about casting, third about healing

However, I’d recommend introducing the Tinker first and saving the Necromancer for a future expansion.

What’s your expertise in game balancing and AI to be able to make such a claim?

WoW’s problem is not a lack of gameplay options or customisation, it’s a problem of players having exceptionally sophisticated tools and resources to be able to ‘solve’ any given balance state of the game.

Introducing more specs or classes will not change the fact that a meta will always exist, and many players will base how they play on that meta, regardless of how small the difference is.

New classes and specs are good to add from an options standpoint, and to offer more gameplay and roleplaying variety to players - but it is not a solution to a limited PvP or PvE meta.

Using AI to fix class balancing?

On what data are you even going to train this?
How will you maintain that dataset?
What will you consider to be “balanced”, like what criteria are met here?

Just throwing this prompt in ChatGPT and hope for the best?

A lot of the “use AI to fix X” statements I see remind me of the “Have a business idea just need a guy to do the tech bit” statements that I used to get a lot of.

“I’ll be the ideas guy and you can handle the tech stuff!”

Impossible.

There will always be specs/builds that are best.
Most people will use those .

There will always be classes that perform better than specific other classes.
Most people will use those.

A 4th spec won’t change anything in that regard.

I disagree. Races to a lesser degree, but adding more classes only makes balancing harder.
