Enemy guards PvP flagging you, even if you don’t hit em

This is not ERA. Check the in game version of the client you are running. You are running a completely different version of the game. A version which was not made available until now, which has some changes. This is one of them. Learn to adapt or learn to write better whine posts on the forums.

Well I tested Era. I was killed, attacked, stunned, dazed … in short every single type and form of attack from Guards - except for PvP flag.
And Blizz said that they would do away with PvP not implement new random PvP attacks. It IS a bug in HC.

Since you seem to suffer from some sort of inability to comprehend changes, I kindly suggest you post your problems in the Support Forums and get laughed at by customer support as well as the rest of us. RIPBOZO

You should report this player for using an exploit to grief

No joke I just had a nightmare about this , i was strolling happily through the barrens when somehow some guard flagged me for pvp then it was a rush to escape any other player who was out to get me . Fix your game blizzard it’s giving people nightmares!!!

This was not the case back in Vanilla. Only if you retaliated in any way (including Fear, Thorns, Retribution aura etc.) would you be PVP enabled.

So HC (and Era?) is definately changed compared to Vanilla - intended or not? Who knows.

Aggroing guards still doesn’t flag you for PVP on era, unless you fight back. Got a bit to close to Southshore with my undead priest (on a normal era server) the other day, got killed, but was never flagged.

So it is only changed for HC. I can’t be sure if this change is intentional or not. The only reason for this to be intentional I can think of would be so you can immediately retalliate, without wasting precious seconds to flag yourself manually.

I am however more inclined to think the change was unintentional. This, rather significant, change is not mentioned in the patch notes, while all other changes were. And rather than protecting players against unwanted PVP encounters, which seems to be the reason for the other PVP changed on HC, it causes them.

Even if this is not a bug Blizzard should change it back to hiw it is in era.

Ot is NOT changed in Era I tested short time ago – after HC came out with this bug – I was killed, attacked, stunned, dazed … in short every single type and form of attack from Guards - except for PvP flag.

Im sorry , but if you think blizzard care about classic era and hc mode at all, you’re going to get severely disappointed.

Blizzard said that they have done some changes compared to era to NOT get griefed and minimize any chance of random pvp, but this change (bug) is opposite, do you really think that it was intended?

Seeing as how noobs are crying daily on the forums about it and we have 0 Blizz replies, yes, I do think this was how it’s meant to be. Or at the least, this is how it will be.

Well, I do believe you’re right. And I don’t mind if they keep this setting for towns and outposts , but they should really change Dun Algaz. Now horde players are given a disadvantage.

(Almost) same outside Stonard for Alliance: if you aggro the npc outside Stonard at the small camp you get flagged. He doesn’t even need to hit you, being in range is enough.

I thought it flagged you if you went near the hub of an opposing faction automatically, to stop you going in and causing havoc.

I Don´t think this is right. On my way to badlands (Horde) it went to all kinds of alliance outposts just to explore the map. Wasn´t until a mountaineer in that tunnel from wetlands to loch modan hit me, that i got pvp flagged.

Only Capital cities. Not for instance Crossroads.

Unfortunately this bug hits randomly. You have to test each guard to know which ones flag you. Have good memory or die sigh.

now I have a bit of experience with this I can take a guess

it seems like in this version of wow you have no attack cursor when you mouse over guards, assuming you need to /pvp first before you get one.

guards cant still aggro if you walk too close (seen from experience)

as for being flagged for engaging but not attacking ? at a guess it might either be a thorns like effects reflecting damage or pets on defensive damaging guards and flagging you ?

I got pvp enabled by just passing by (not hitting or being hitted by) the NPC at the camp outside Stonard. I was on my mage - no thorns, retri aura or anything like that.

I didn’t die and there were no high level horde nearby to “take care” of me, so as such no danger - but clearly a big difference from Vanilla - and possibly Era before HC patch came out.
