Enemy guards PvP flagging you, even if you don’t hit em

In the rules of engagment published by Blizzard: We’ve added this failsafe to prevent situations in which a player could unintentionally take aggressive action against another player who is flagged for PvP, and unwittingly flag themselves. By requiring players to type /pvp before engaging in any PvP content, this maintains fairness and keeps PvP as a consensual part of the game.

My level 35 character died to a level 45 hunter who PvP flagged him and killed me while I got PvP flagged while accidently aggroed a guard.

Is it intentional to be flagged if the guards attack you? I don’t the consensual part of being chased by a spineless coward 10 levels above killing me.

It’s a bug. Bug report in-game and hope for fix :frowning:

You should have just tried to get somewhere save or immediately HS out to safety.

No is not us players to make up for Blizz’s new bugs. Is THEM to fix new bugs!

Delusional kid. No offense. At this point it is more likely to see a unicorn than blizzard doing the right thing.

Get your head out of your behind and look how you can save yourself in such a situation.

Bro… He flagged for PvP and started killing me while I was running from the guard. There was no way I’ve could have lived. Keep in mind he was a skull for me he was 10 levels above me.

Yeah, except they said themselves to report any bugs of this kind. So if we do not, how could we ever expect them to fix?
I had luck. Log out, wait until middle of nigth, slink to FP and fly off, which make PvP flag go away. But if level ^^ other faction had been around like for OP, I had been dead meat too.

Where was this?

Middle of Thousand Needles, the Horde guard guardning the lifts to Free Wind Post.

Well, regardless of the pvp flag being a bug or not, the real problem was that horde guy who did you in. Can´t do anything against it.

pvp should be opt in only on hc, nothing should flag you for pvp

It’s working as intended.

A guard is NOT a player.

You engaged yourself in PVP when you aggroed a guard by proximity.

You could not be more wrong if you tried.

If a guard agros you, then you become PVP flagged. How do you not know this until now? A lot of people seem to have absolutely no idea of the basic game mechanics, come into hc, die, and then get onto the forums to whine. All i can say is: GOOD. Good that you died, you deserved it  Have fun in Valley of Trials you

Guards in Era do NOT PvP flag you when hit you. Only in capital cities. How can you not have found out by now this is NEW bug in HC.

This is not a bug but how it works. Are you playin on ERA ? No. Why would you think it works the same then? A casual glance over this subject would have you find that this is indeed how it works on hc realms. If you want ERA rules, go to ERA

We were told HC would be like Era with a few changes for playing HC and not be griefed. Among those change of Quests flagging you for PvP.
Nobody in their right mind would expect guards to suddenly start flagging you for PvP on a HC realm.

Well this is one of those few changes. Glad you understood.

It’s really annoying that for some reason so many people think that this isn’t actually a bug and is just how era works. Almost like a mandela effect
