ENG EU Server choice advice?

I’m looking for a high pop (in the high-full range) server with active raiding and economy, a preferably equal OR horde majority and a predominantly English speaking community ahead of the new expansion, as playing low/mid pop on a predominantly ally server is getting boring…

I’m looking for a server on ENG EU Realms.

The impressions i have so far:

  1. Defias Brotherhood Rp: equal-ish faction balance, mostly english speaking, lots of raiding (pretty good, but a problem for me is how sharding/crz works with rp servers)
  2. Stormscale: English speaking but huge horde imbalance
  3. Azjol Nerub: english spekaing and equal factions but lower pop?
  4. Drak-thul + burning legion: High pop but predominantly eastern european players?

Could anybody provide insight into these servers and their communities or advice on any other servers matching the criteria i might consider?

I have character boosted and looked at the guild finder/ capital city general chat of each realm and also looked at the blizzard forums to get an impression, but thought it would be worth asking on here.

I’ve also been checking population number and a/h ratio using wowprogress.

I’ve been scouting lots of servers in my population range but i keep finding eng servers overrun with non english speakers…

Thanks for any help,

Slim.

I was also wondering if queues are a problem on full servers, for example, how often are queues experienced and how long are they usually?

Magtheridon has an equal Alliance/Horde ratio if that’s what you are looking for. My GF has played on that realm for approx 7 years and it’s been totally fine. English speaking majority on the server and should have no trouble at all finding a guild to raid with etc.

  1. Defias, once was great, now kinda dead. I played here for years.
  2. Stormcale, good for Horde, should be lots of guilds available for you
  3. Azjol Nerub, seems to be a bit dead too, would probably avoid.
  4. Drak’thul, server pop is good but I’m pretty sure the majority of the server pop on that realm are not English speaking.

Magtheridon is a solid choice, as is Chamber of Apsects. (for close to 50/50 faction ratio)

If you don’t really care about faction imbalance then Stormscale, Kazzak, Twisting Nether & Ragnaros are solid choices too.

Hope this helps

There’s no point in equal faction population with sharding. You’re better off with a server dominated by your faction because stuff in the Auction House will be cheaper and you’ll have more choices in guilds.

I play on Draenor, the english realm with higher Horde population. I had no queues so far.

You can scratch that H/A balance request. As for everything else id go with Draenor or Tarren Mill.
The only problem Draenor has, is durring New expansion launch days with log in quees, but those are like 30min and last maybe 3-4 days. But id still pick draenor when you weigh in the bads/good.

No it’s English. Official Spanish realms exist…

Come to Goldshire…

Sorry, I mean Argent Dawn. Prime server.

Aim for previously dead realms connected with the high pop ones if you want easy access to names.

Kazzak, Tarren Mill and Draenor are probably all safe bets.

Why would you want 50/50 ratio on a server?
That is long gone, im seeing players from all kinds of realms nowadays on my instance.

Do you even see the other language tabs below the realms?
