Engineering should not be a requirement

With Wrath prepatch upon us I have seen a new phenomenon by which all guilds are requiring engineering on all our characters. They all mention the rocket boots as the reason. Engineering has practically become the new Leatherworking. The solution is easy.

Make rocket boots BOE and remove the engineering requirement.

OR

Make rocket boots unusable in raids.

In this way, the obligation for people to go engineering will be mitigated.

Blizzard correctly nerfed the Drums for TBC. It should also do something about engineering in Wrath.

Only bad guilds will require them.

Idk why engineering is a problem now, never heard about it before. On flat stats, there are better proffesions. Are those Rocket boots really that op? Dont think so

Yeah our more serious raid team has engi as requirement, but it is a nominal rule, since like 30/35 of them were going it anyway because it is by far BiS with boots and sappers and all that.
I’ll be happily sitting in the bommer dad raid with my tailor/enchant :man_shrugging:
But yeah, there is little doubt Engi is by far the best PvE profession for any class. Casters pretty much locked to engi/tailor for embroidery.

For speedruns they are. And sappers.

Imagine thinking this is a huge issue while not being able to find the 30 like-minded people to form a guild that would solve the issue

It is actually only ”Good” guilds that require them, Those that clear content fast and easy.

I will never change profession like that personally tho.

I did decent DmG during MC, BWL, AQ40, Naxx even without Engi.

Don’t know why wotlk would be any different.

The glove enchants and explosives are what it’s all about.

Nitro is nice though.

Blizzard thought it was problem for TBC so they nerfed drums. It should be the same for Wrath and Engineering.
