Come one come all! I’ll be starting to roleplay a draenei artificer soon and I thought “Hmm, I wonder what crazy things people have inveeented!” So… Throw all your crazy, outlandish (or totally safe and normal) inventions in here! Things your character uses, things you’ve seen, ALL THAT JAZZ! Any, and I do mean -any-, kind of technology is welcome here! Be that ethereal or orcish, goblin’sh or gnomish!
(Dammit, posted on a wrong char. This is still me nod)
I tried the famed gun boots once…
… and to keep a fast story short, let’s just say having a demonically enhanced superelven body came in really handy, or I’d definitely have broken my neck when I hit that stone bridge that suddenly appeared out of nowhere!
But it’s not all bad. Although I lack the education, I’ve had great fun with the following:
-
Bombs. Mostly the directional variety designed to dig through walls, preferably Fel or Azerite powered for that added punch. Very useful for the rare moments when my specially designed and heavily enchanted Warglaives are not enough, or the target simply too big.
-
Gnomish Shrink ray. Useful for when I want to capture a demon’s warlock or mortal companion by turning them into a pocket-sized concern. Or to just have some fun whilst bored!
I have also considered trying a Thorium Particle grenade to negate spellcasters, although I hear there’s a risk of side effects in the form of permanent, debilitating thorium poisoning for mortals, so I am still undecided.
Oh I love this! YOu’re not alone, Mr. Draenei. As I play/roleplay a Blood Elf Artificer of my own for over a year now!
His greatest pride has to remain in the replication and assimilation of technology from other races. Draenei, Dwarven, Gnomish… even Goblin to some degree has always been a big forte of his.
Therefore, when the time he was allowed to control a Blood Golem excited him a lot! And it was fun to take part in it by the campaign organizer!
Tek trained as a Rangari but also spent a lot of time with Artificers. He used his Artificer knowledge to aid him as a Rangari (flares, developing crossbows with scopes etc).
Since coming to Azeroth, Tek has been fascinated by the technology developed here and how it can be integrated with Draenei technology.
Tek uses Mechs as mounts and uses Guns whilst still maintaining his Rangari abilities. His armor is also Rangari armor intergrated with technology (in my head).
I was somewhat interested in technology in my youth, but soldiering duties left me little time to pursue my interest, until after the battle at Light’s Hope.
Then, when I had all the time in the world, I sought out engineers willing to teach, and over the years I have learned a lot.
I remember getting a lot of good use out of various explosives (inflicting pain is a necessity to sustain my existence),
but the most personally useful item I have made, was a pair of simple goggles that I still wear when I put down my fearsome helmet, to not put off people with my chill-inducing, unliving gaze.
I have also had the privilege, when my skill improved enough, of making weapons and other useful items for my friends and relatives.
Azura studied under gnomish teachers. Her best invention is mechanical arm for her customer with some insane additions to it
Well, to start with I got my good ol’ Portable Pet Problem Preventer. A stunningly stylish bag which Combines the idea of a Gnomish shrink ray, and a portable hole into one handy dandy all purpose Pet carrier.
I’m currently working on a Collar version. Though the field testing on that one has left me with many a decapitated test Chicken.
Other than that small robotic friends with build in face shredders. Now in bullet form. Load a handful of these guys into your gun and say “FAREWELL!” To any organic matter in your path. It comes in Squirrel, Raptor and Spider variant.
