Ok, ignoring the heavy list of bugs and the tuning that needs to happen, I feel that there are some missed opportunities with the enh rework:
The “elementalist” side of the tree fell behind. Lava lash, hot hands, and so on cannot compete in the new patch with the “storm” build (stormstrike line).
Because of the above, there is a real possibility that the best totemist build doesn’t even have talented lava lash. I believe there is no need to explain why it is a design fail when in the hero talent tree, half the talents do nothing (because there is no lava lash used in the build).
New talent: Molten Thunder: While in concept it is REALLY nice, especially with how it works with totemist, it creates a really big gap in RNG. It would be way better for every stormbringer reset to instead reduce the CD of sundering (instead of having a small chance to reset it completely).
I liked the flow of the Elementalist Shaman, but it’s somehow missing now. Why do they have to destroy such playstyles, should they just nerf the dmg or something by 5% etc. -.-
Flowing Spirits I think may have got a hefty but slient nerf. On PTR it was really fun (probably procced abit too much) with good RNG could get up to 10 wolves (non elemental / didn’t seem to work well with elemental spirits) now on target dummies I can barely get 4 for any length of time, witch doctors is so much better
The guys at the discord also suspect a nerf of around 30% to the proc rate.
Generally with ptr being down the last week before the patch, no testing could be done. Oh and we seem to have our aura reduced from 2% to -4%. This translates to a 6% nerf.
Have no idea what is going on. Seems our aoe is better than before the patch, with our single target heavily nerfed. Will probably wait for the bugs to be discovered and see what blizzard does next week.
