Part of me thinks the high prices have something to do with the changed pre patch duration, which went from “we want a longer pre patch than original tbc” (45 days I think) to TWO WEEKs.
Two weeks is not enough to reroll a class based upon the significant changes the pre patch brings and get them to 60 outside of nolife boost levelling, and I think blizzard know this. So…there’s the boost…
As a player, a human being you are responsible for your actions. Nobody is forcing you to buy any of that garbage so it’s on you.
The amount of hate Blizzard is getting for doing this is astounding and should be ashamed for this cash grab, of course players will whine and moan but still buy it so they win in the end.
I don’t really get people crying except the fact they are looking for some attention.
Do you think leveling up involves any kind of skills or something?XD
Sorry if someone has already posted it and I’ve missed it, but have they announced/confirmed the price for this for UK? I can see the character clone will be £12, but was just wondering what the Dark Portal Pass/Deluxe edition would be.
Whoa whoa whoa, get out of here with your logic! A lot of people don’t think about the math behind spending more money on subscriptions with the token since the token actually costs more than a normal subscription by a lot.
Yes, I’m donating to my sanity. I don’t want to endure Classic levelling again and will happily jump straight into TBC
I will still have to level my back up character, seeing as this boost is just a one off per account but regardless of how long that takes I’ll be able to play with friends on launch.
If you can level in Classic in a couple of days good for you. Most take a lot longer.
Retail levelling is nice and quick, Classic levelling, not so much. Unless you go the dungeon boost route but then again you’re just paying in a different format.
Well it’s just another example of ignorancy when it comes to playing the game. Or rather the selfishness from players. As a result, we will see an increase of botting too. It will grow more rampant.
But some people will use the excuse that “Blizzard will never fix botters or take care of them so it’s useless” and you may be right on that one.
It just comes down to Blizzard wanting money the most easiest way possible.
Not everyone favours throwing the baby out with the bath water. Just because botting exists does not mean the boost should not. If we banned everything in all the WoW games because it may exploited/result in activities that aren’t permitted, there would be very little of the game left.
This is great for returning or new players who can jump straight in with their friends. This is a one off boost per account. It’s not like boost in retail which people can just buy repeatedly.
So this is a smart move, it allows people like me to jump straight into the actual TBC expansion and play with my friends who have decided to swap to the opposite faction. I really don’t care for the toxic reactions or insults from those who don’t want to use the services. Everyone who wants to, can play completely for free (barring the usual subscription cost). If you don’t want to clone or buy a portal pass then don’t.
I don’t think they’ll change their mind tbh. I don’t think the next boost will come in until we have Wrath Classic, if we get that far.
Classic didn’t appeal to everyone, many players tried and quit at various levels, some never even bothered with Classic. TBC will bring in people who carry on from Classic and those who have been waiting specifically for this expansion. So to have one character boosted to be able to jump straight in for launch is a nice touch.
It’s not going to appeal to everyone but many are just getting dungeon boosts. I have friends who are going this route and wowhead even deigned to put out a ‘guide’ with dungeon boosting as the fastest means to level. Some will just do good old fashioned levelling with the better xp levelling in prepatch.
I used to play WoW since classic/TBC times up until recently when the microtransactions took over the game. Returned to WoW because of opportunity to play Classic, with no microtransactions, level boosts, etc. So when you see a player of a high level, or with a fancy mount, you know they achieved it, and not just payed for it. And importantly you don’t feel like you’re wasting time levelling a character when you know you could have just paid for it.
I do understand the business side of things, but perhaps a different approach is needed for Classic. I’d even rather you charge a higher subscription fee for classic, but please don’t ruin the game by turning it into what the modern version is like.
will not matter for those of us who play without either of these
have a lvl 9 belf paladin on stonespine eu and a lvl 5 belf rogue
only one thing has a really slow respawn sindorei armaments
and the old female belf model looks nice
Irony… You pay for and play (you’re lvl60) Retail, you can also play Classic Vanilla and soon, Classic TBC for no extra charge, unless you choose to purchase something, which is not necessary to play either Classic game.
Tbh, I’m wondering how many of the saltiest posts come from people watching their Private server income dry up.
