Enhancement MoP Ascendance

Rework Enhancement from the ground up.
Bring back Old MoP Ascendance and bring back Chain Harvest
And prune the specc because it is bloated like crazy

So the exact same Ascendance that MoP has is still in the game. Your auto attacks and windstrike still ignores armor.
The game has just progressed to a point where thats just not enough gameplay.
Also Chain Harvest was only cool because of the visuals.
Maybe we should instead look at making the hero trees less oppressive to the actual spec, and put more power into the dragonflight talent tree instead of the war within hero tree.

Tbh no, chain harvest was cool because of 2 factors:

  • With the lego, you could instantly put flameshock on 5 targets with no setup
  • Due to tuning. As enhancement you could actually use it as party wide LoH with all the healing it did

Granted that it probably will not have the same tuning, I can say it was fun while it lasted.

I mean the reason why Chain Harvest applied flame shock was just because we had no other way of spreading flame shock. Enhancement was extremely underdesigned in Shadowlands. But then in 9.2, Lava lash could just spread Flame shock for you. So after that, it did not really matter.
Chain harvest was also just undertuned compared to other covenants, like Necrolord and Night Fae.
So it was mostly just cool cause it felt good to press.
Seeing that extremely large red beam was sick.
But idk would be sick if they just made a glyph to make our spenders red instead then.

TBH that is not true. In the first season of SL when you played with doom winds, the “meta” choice was to play venthir (mainly because of small importance, and venthir had some nice soulbinds). It was not until the 2nd season that the other choices became meta.

As for being underdesigned, it felt pretty good (especially after the BFA fiasco). Both the DW playstyle from season 1-2 that was pretty simple (but still had some depth), and the elementalist playstyle from season 3.

I always felt that the wave would have been a good addition to the enh talent tree. Something like replacing elemental blast with a chain harvest that did elemental damage (with similar mechanics of getting reduced cd somehow).

well it wasn’t because it was good. More that it was the least bad choice.
Fae was also really good but it needed more stats to be viable.
You quite literally couldnt play Necrolord cause you didnt have flame shock spread then.
And Kyrian was just not good cause it had no synergies.

So you just picked Venthyr because might as well have somewhat of a burst window.

And when i meant underdesigned. All the button is, is a big Chain Lightning.
It did big damage, and did some healing. But it was really just a big chain lightning.

personally, out of the covenant abilities, i would like to see Fae Transfusion return.

The worst thing ever xD. Always detested the channel as melee.

You are really underselling the healing part :stuck_out_tongue: . As a normal hit it was like 40% of the group’s health, and with a crit it was an aoe LoH. It was pretty fun to actually count it as a healing cd in dungeons.

no im not underselling the healing part, but you know, you weren’t supposed to use Chain Harvest like a healing cooldown. so if it just happened that the whole group needed healing, then it was great. Otherwise, it was just a damage cooldown.

Ascendance didn’t have windstrike in MoP, it had Stormblast. Much more fun to press

Its the same skill with a different animation, ascendents in retail is literally just a better version of old ascendents

Well that is just far from the truth.
It was faster animation and had a " Knocked the wind outta me " kinda feeling.
It chunked enemies, it hit real hard, but you could only use 2 in ascedance. i rather have that instead of a spammy “low” damage one.
