Enhancement Shaman meaning

Good day to everyone, just wanted to engage in a friendly debate on the meaning behind enhancement shamans.

Does everyone here thinks Enhancement shaman is a solid spec? Cause i feel it lacks in identity. Just to get to the point. Does it not mean to enhance abilities or weapons etc? I wonder why Thrall have not talked to blizzard yet about how he wields the elements etc. I feel enhancement can be a unique specc, but my brain cant wrap around its current gameplay etc xD

Enhancement = Augmentation :smiley:

That was Classic (Horde Only) And tbc was the peak as a support + solid dps.

Yeah. I would say that the focus on m+ has had negative consequences for everything: races, classes, specs, factions.

The only thing i miss from my ench is the old WF visual

I miss the 2hander playstyle

Sad to see only Thrall knows the way atm xD

not really.
without m+ the game would be dead most likely already.

it requires some tweaks as for me personally it is in the most unfun state it has ever been.
some others seem to like the elementalist gcd, tab target whack a mole fiesta though

If you ask me, enhancement closest to its description during legion and bfa.

  • Maintain weapon buffs (flametongue, frostbrand (if talented hailstrom)).

  • Main focus on melee abilites, with some mid-range spells.

Now: buff up a ranged spell.

Wish to a melee class strongest skill is a melee ability… Stormstrike still not nature dmg. Meanwhile all retri paladin abilities are holy dmg (even auto melee attacks, if talented crusading strikes).

I think enhancement ist definetely pretty solid in terms of identity, and they typically aren’t a bad spec to play.

I would still say however that they do join the “Blizzard doesn’t know why I exist” group, atleast unlike most other specs in that group these ones have solid identity as far as I’m aware

I’ve suggested before that the spec names should be changed to be more immersive rather than meta-game speak.

The current names are a relic of the old Talent Trees. So you used Enhancement Talent to enhance your own abilities. And your Totems could enhance other players in your group too, Windfury Totem would increase everyones Haste (I think, been a while since I’ve used proper totems).

Elemental Spec is equally meaningless. All shaman specs use the element.

I would like names such as:
Rain Dancer for Restoration.
Wind Runner for Enhancement.
Storm Caller for Elemental.
Earth Warden for an earth based tanky spec.

That was just me spit-balling ideas.

New specs that came into the game after the old talent trees were already gone got newer non mata-gaming names like Mist Weaver or Havoc.

I see, though i got the feeling and see that players feel that the spec isnt at it where it should be… xD

I’m technically an enhance main but all I use my main for is collecting so does that count? I’ll be raiding on a Ret Pala in TWW and doing my m+ on it too as I refuse to suffer much more

Ah yes, that looks nice. I just hope blizzard would give quality specs with solid builds to work with. That makes sense ofcourse, instead of reworking all the time. We could had gotten a tank shaman spec by now and other speccs that actually increases the variety of most classes xD

Yep you are not alone. Heard many enha shaman fed up and roll to retri paladin. TWW logs will be funny for sure.

Why did an enh shammy start a bakery?

because he wanted to stormstrike the perfect balance between dough and fury

You enhance your weapons with the elements

I don’t know but playing elemental made me hate my life for playing shaman …

It’s like a cheap version of mage …

In lore they are communicating with the spirits to barrow their powers. They should have been able to summon or transform into one of the elements i think. That would kinda give them a unique gameplay and identity. We have done this many times before in some of the world quest, where you barrow or control the power of the elements.

Did you ask the elephants… ahem, the elements to guide you?
