Alright, lets try to break it down.
About the extremes… I mentioned Snupys challenge earlier, where Enh absolutely deleted someone in seconds. Is it really fair to give such a spec more uptime on targets? No, because its exactly kiting, that allows many specs to survive Enhs burst. Without it, u should force all your cooldowns just to survive. Getting deleted from 100 to 0 in 2.5 seconds isnt healthy gameplay.
As for bringing up other specs… thats actually the only fair way to approach it. If you only play one spec, even at a decent level, and you feel like that spec has issues, how can you really judge without understanding what problems other classes are dealing with? And what if some of those issues are way worse? So why should your spec get buffs over others? Because of low ladder representation? I already explained why Avines is behind someone like Raiku - its not because Avines plays Enh, it is because he s just not on the same level. And those top tier players who could show what Enh is capable of, just prefer to do it on other classes. Not because Enh is weak, but because other classes offer more flexibility. Like i said before, Enh is locked into Turbo, while Ele can flex into a bunch of comps. Its not just about Ele being stronger - its the mechanics: ranged, good synergy with rest casters and melees with Mortal.
Now imagine if Enh had Mortal Wounds. That alone might open up new comp possibilities - like playing with a Mage or SP. Maybe you wouldnt even need buffs. For those who keep playing Turbo, nothing would change - Mortal is already there via the Warrior. But for those looking to try new things, they might suddenly discover the spec is actually competitive.
I joined this discussion because honestly, i keep seeing, and i dont mean to offend anyone, lot of “whining” from Enh players. But lets be real, does Enh actually need buffs right now?
- There s at least one whole class, not just a spec, thats in a worse state than Enh - DK.
- Enh is one of, if not the most, unpopular specs in the game. This isnt new, its always been like that.
- Will Enh bring more diversity or make PvP more interesting if it suddenly rises in popularity? No - its locked in one comp by Blizzards own design, and if more people pick it up, the ladder just becomes more stale and one dimensional.
- Would it be fair for a 2k exped Enh to suddenly be on par with players 500 exp above them? No, thats not fair at all.
So yeah, Enh has problems - but not the ones everyone of u keep shouting about. If you step outside of grinding just one spec, you ll see every class has issues. Enhs real issue is lack of flexibility. Its been stuck in one comp since WoD and hasn’t evolved. If you want the spec to grow and attract strong players, its not about brute force buffing it into the top, that just bloats the top of the ladder with someones that hasnt earned its place. What Enh really needs is a rework - and the first thing to ask Blizzard for should be - Mortal Wounds. That change alone could finally let Enh step into real arena play and leave behind the “10 iq comp” Turbo prison its stuck in now.
And yeah, sadly, these changes wont happen overnight. It ll take time for new comps to form, and the meta to adapt. But that slow path is the only real way to revive your favorite spec.
