Dear Blizzard,
I hope you read this message before the release of patch 11.1. You need to find a solution for Enhancement Shaman.
First of all, let’s talk about Enhancement’s mobility. Even Saul switched to Elemental Shaman because he couldn’t connect to any target. Our gameplay currently revolves around throwing Surging Totem at the target and desperately trying to catch up. We are certainly not the best melee spec right now, especially when compared to other melee classes:
- Rogues keep us in a permanent stun and have better crowd control overall.
- Warriors can destroy us in two seconds with insane burst and healing reduction.
- Monks are the best counter for melee classes.
- Paladins (especially smart Retribution Paladins) can kite us while keeping up constant pressure.
- We don’t need to talk about mages evockers hunters…
Playing Enhancement feels like every class is our natural counter. On top of that, winning matches as Enhancement requires a high level of awareness, constantly using Grounding Totem before traps, Tremor Totem at the right moment, removing poisons, and so on. Many Enhancement mains embrace this challenge, but the spec hasn’t evolved like others. In fact, it’s getting worse.
Players have been complaining about Enhancement in PvP for years, yet you only seem to listen to PvE players. It feels like you’re saying, “Here’s the spec, figure it out yourselves.”
Small Changes Could Make Enhancement One of the Best Specs in the Game
Here are some suggestions that could greatly improve Enhancement in PvP:
- Replace Wind Shear with Earth Shock (8-second cooldown) – This would be a major upgrade, providing faster interrupts and reducing enemy attack speed.
- Instant Hex – Make it usable only when at 10 Maelstrom stacks.
- Feral Spirit should reduce or reset the cooldown of Feral Lunge.
- Allow us to place Grounding Totem at a chosen location. (A talent could replace Totemic Projection, letting us reposition it by recasting the totem.)
- Make Astral Shift usable while stunned.
PvP has been declining with each expansion—you need to save it.
