Hello guys, hope all have a good time playing wow, i come here after a long pause on game, and shadowlands make me play again the game. about new things. but im soo sad when i see the only class i love it , its soo diferent, “enh shaman” why blizz with alote of diferences in shadowlands why not bring back “fire nova” for aoe the enh shaman. I usually play high rated arenas/rated bgs has enh shaman now its not viable because dont have aoe damage spread. its soo annoying. In arenas we are squishy , our damage its good as single target damage , but we compare with a dk/war/dh/rogue/ww/retri paladin we dont have nothing for aoe. My post here its for someone see this and if have same feeling as me, if play enh shaman our dificults playing . On mythic plus no one inv a enh shaman … because its not viable for that. another melles can work better. Sorry for my bad english, i hope all can understand my points and hope someone from blizzard can check this post and think about enh shamans because its the worst melle class at all.
I’m looking forward to the Enhancement Changes, they’re bringing it back closer to how it used to be Before the Legion screw up of the spec. I’d like Fire Nova back, but I don’t feel its as important.
to be interesting in m+ enh need 2 things:
dmg debuff from monk or dh and a better def cd.
Dmg is definitely not our problem (maybe it is in the highest top end 24+?)
Is enh shaman aoe that bad? It might not be super bursty but it’s not weak at all. It’s main limitation is it lacks reach, but most melee DPS have that issue - they aoe on their target area.
I mained an enh shaman last season with a primal primer build and my aoe was absolutely nuts, certainly didn’t feel weak and kept up consistent damage on all nearby targets whilst maintaining pure single target damage on my main target. Can’t speak for PvP though, but unless the picture is extremely different I’d imagine the same applies, enh can fully pressure a single target whilst maintaining decent cleave on others, whereas other classes have to opt between the two. This is probably weaker in PvP as it suits enh in longer fights but less so in short ones when targets die to the burst aoe of other melee.
Yeah they’re not very resilient. I found that more of a problem than anything else. Utility is alright as far as melee DPS goes: very short interrupt, aoe stun, curse cleanse, aoe targeted snare, instant off heals, deployable off tank and easy In combat mobility which is truckloads more than warriors and DKs offer. Issue is beyond Astral Shift your only recourse to weather blows is to use your resource on instant heals, whereas stuff like warriors and rogues have access to decent repeatable sustain that doesn’t harm their rotation as well as “big” defensives.
They changed how much damage reduction armor does. IN Cata/MoP/WoD, plate Always had around 45% in plate armor, Mail had 35%, Leather had like… 23-25% and Cloth 20%.
Now though? Mail has 25% or something, and shamans were never really hard on defensives, but due to how armor worked, it was no big deal unlike now.
Is it that weak? My hunter main wears mail and I currently have about 43% listed physical DR. Unless the listed number is false? Then again, azerite inflation, but still without it id imagine id be around the 35% marker.
Well, they’ve done somethin… since the damage intake was increased by a ton when Legion hit. And that’s just from how it was leveling as a Hellfire Citadel geared Enhance and starting in a new zone at lvl 100.
The levelling values are whack. this dude has about 14% in my levelling gear. My horde brewmaster at 440 ilevel is sitting at about 37%. Scaling is topped heavily in endgame favour it seems.
