Any lore explanation of why there is no Gnome Paladins?

I would love a Gnome paladin
To be honest I would love to be like Warriors and Hunters and be able to be ANY race.
Too short⌠they canât reach the light.
Exclusivity is a good thing. Iâm sick of âeveryone can do everythingâ.
Gnomes are tiny and make up their lack of physical strength through by intelligence and their agility. Damn, turn it the other way around: if they ever give us a tinker class it should be exclusive to Gnomes and Goblins, I donât want orc or human tinkers because it is simply not in their nature.
Too bald, light reflects off their head
Ironic as you are tauren paladin and horde didnt have any until Cata
Any class that can be a warrior and a priest should be able to be a Paladin.
Oh look, they now all can.
In D&D people now can be whatever they want and it is infinitely better. Let people play what they want!
Harengon Ranger my beloved :3
My best guess is gnomes have no shared religion or not something that is conventionally a religion in the way the light is.
In classic wow they didnât even have priests and the only reason priests ever became paladins is as an answer to the Death Knights used in the second war and thereâs currently no hostile faction of death knights to incentivize priests to pick up plate.
I really liked the concept they had back in cata with the new race/class combinations that they werenât really the same classes thematically just mechanically.
Iâm not a fan of âeveryone can be anythingâ either but if thatâs the case then having some lore and visual differences between the races but being functionally the same is a really cool way to do it.
Shame Blizz put like 0 effort into it even back then and didnât bother to stick with what little they did do :/
As long as its a strong story for example Nelf becoming paladin which they did in Legion class campaign i do not mind. I know gnomes would be hard to sell and i have no idea how they could dream up a back story.
Ye Gnome and Goblins are difficult unless you go with the easy cop out of just doing differently specialized engineers and just say the âlightâ is something like flashbangs heat, rays and healing rays.
Punygnome?
You mean like Nelf warlocks and their super cool strong story?
You got me there
Base classes should be available to all races.
Thing is the lore reasons got thrown out the window with that, so I see no reason to gatekeep paladins, shamans and druids any more. I can completely understand druids taking a very long time to get unique models for everyone and that shamans have unique totems; paladins have unique mounts. But they then went and put in a load of warlock customisations so clearly theyâre not incapable of doing it. Enough excuses I say!
And also, I believe there is enough lore reason in oneâs head to justify it. That Nelf might look upon demon hunters as too much but be inspired to try being a warlock; or was really bad at being a mage and switched to it. There are so many reasons you can play any class you want, anyone can learn anything.
Even demon hunters for the other races make sense now, they can up and go âI want to be a demon hunterâ and boom illidairy. Evokers⌠they are the only ones it wouldnât work with as they are experiments using dragonflight powers. But paladin, shaman and druid have been in since day one.
Myself i would love KT paladins and nelfs/gnomes also would love human shamans and more races for druids to be sure like pandaâs
You are not worthy.
But i eat gingerbread, though.
