I’ve run into this error again. I thought i’d fixed it, i was thrilled, but now i’ve got it back and i genuinely don’t know what to do. New memory, new almost everything, but something’s wrong and I can’t figure out what. Please help.
What’s your memory usage when this happens? Do you have “useless” programs running on your PC? Like for example software that comes included with gaming laptops that’s rarely actually useful but just drains memory.
I used to have stuff like this at a time when Chrome was really RAM hungry and I tried to run games with Chrome open (usually certain sites like wowhead were a big culprit).
Also run security and malware scans to make sure you have no malicious software leeching off memory.
Memory usage is 10 of my 16 gb. No other programs running except Discord occasionally, I’ve done a memtest and found nothing too. Usage is stable and consistent, doesn’t seem to spike or shift
Some suggestions for you - and apologies in advance for any of these things you may have already tried:
Disable all addons (I imagine you’ve done this)
Force WOW to use DX11 and not DX12
Downgrade your graphics drivers
I note you’ve replaced your RAM, but I also wonder if this could be a motherboard issue. Easier said than done, but this would be a logical next step for memory errors.
Have you run MEMTest86 ? This will give your RAM a thorough check - be prepared for it to take some time.
I’ll also link to another thread where someone had similar issues to yourself and they tried many, many different things - some of which may give you some ideas.
I ran memtest and came back clear. The motherboard is also new. I’m already running on DX11 to try and combat texture flickering. I’ll try faffing with the druverd
Your errors show that you seem to have quite a few addons, running, while the crash occurs. The first thing that I would suggest that you try to do is reset your interface.
If possible, please also provide an MSInfo file as well, in Pastebin.
Sorry, pastebin won’t let me upload it due to sensative content or something? I can’t post another link, but i’ve got a pastebin that contains a link to the data. sorry for the rigmarole, but pastebin won’t work. https://pastebin.com/aby0uV7J
Try to follow the steps in this article here, and disable any overlays that you may have active for a bit. Additionally I would suggest that you add the Battle.net app and the WoW.exe to the exception list of your antivirus.
