Same, I give anyone a chance really, you get good and bad everywhere.
Quite possibly!
I heard a rumour that half of that small RP community is, in fact, Perroy.
Ah well. This made me want to look back in on ESO.
Maybe I’ll find some RPers on my wandering.
Because the forums cannot go 1 day without trying to fabricate e-drama about random RP communities.
Yes but there isn’t a Stormwind so you have to actually look for it. Fortunately there are community discord hubs to help with that.
I find it funny that people are throwing shade at ESO when the exact same stuff happens here. There is a commonality to RP antics that exists regardless of game. I bet somewhere on a SWTOR forum the exact same things are being said about Argent Dawn.
Pot. Kettle. Oh and there’s the toaster and the George Foreman grill joining in too.
Stormhaven should still be active, and I believe Summerset RP is still kicking around and about.
I know that Vvardenfell RP closed down relatively recently, and otherwise there is that Legacy of Nirn project as well, although I parted ways with ESO before that community was truly established, so I cannot speak for better or worse about that.
ESO broke my heart with some silly changes, but back when I actively played (From launch and 7 years onwards) Stormhaven was most certainly the most flourising RP community, and that’s with the myriad of other communities that rose up over the years, like Ebonheart Pact RP (With a very unfortunate abbreviation), ADRP, Clans of Skyrim, just to name some of the biggest, albeit perhaps former contenders.
The good part about ESO however, was the larger sense of community collaboration it contained, or at least did. ESO has a very mature audience, in no due thanks to the games own official rating, as well as the themes involved in both the content and lore of the Elder Scrolls universe.
People from all around, no matter their favored place, often wandered and traveled as their characters journey deemed it fitting. That alone was frankly the most wonderful thing about the ESO RP Community. It doesn’t contain the levels of pitiful animosity that WoW seems so plagued by.
I say that with rose tinted glasses, since I was one of the big players in the scene back then. But still, my suggestion would definitely be to check out Stormhaven RP here:

A quick skim also offered this from Legacies of Nirn:

Best of all luck, ESO is an absolutely amazing MMO.
EDIT: Thanks for the tip!
Put links inside ``
Legacies of Nirn is the perfect discord and guild to get started in seeking out ESO RP.
It is an amazing mmo, love the setting, love the towns/cities everything, only thing that kinda bugged me with the game was…it doesnt take long to complete every quest does it? haha, its pretty easy to churn through all the content, and I also love the fact you can sprint, that adjustment from ESO to WoW was hard for, going from being able to sprint on any char to…well, jogging at a light pace.
Edit: Also tping, way more convenient there than on WoW, I miss being able to just tp everywhere, ESO has some glaring pro’s over WoW.
Had a quick go at ESO RP for a few months a little while ago. I found it no different to say Horde RP, in that world RP is rare/extinct, but there’s plenty of RP to be found through discord communication. The community is maybe a couple hundred strong, which is more than enough people to establish your character and make some friends.
RP leans heavily into casual / slice-of-life, which most scenarios being markets, festivals, that sort of thing. I didn’t see much if any combat/DM events, but it was a nice change of pace.
Sweet little community. Wasn’t really engaging enough to keep me there, but they’re doing a good job, and I’m glad folk are happy over there.
It doesn’t take long if you don’t read the quests or listen to the voices yeah. If you actually browse through the dialogues etc the playtime and immersion increase dramatically.
Yeah I browsed through it all for the most part, but I was smashing it aswell at the time so got my cadwell silver n gold pretty quick
Can’t really say the game is too fast if you cut half of what makes an ES game : the quest text
Yeah you really feel welcome there when after this thread got posted the LoN discord started smelling its own farts over how much they’re better than Argent Dawn
You got any screenshots?
Personally don’t know anything about that. I am not so active on the discord as I should be. Only know I was welcomed when the discord was formed up.
When I say I smashed it I mean as in I was spending a little too much time a day on it lol, I went through pretty much all the text, its not that long a game imo, you can smash a chapter in a day, couple hours even
I had a quick glance and couldn’t find this. Even if it’s true - so what?
Let them think that if that’s what they want to think: It’s perfectly normal for people to be seeking RP from different sources, and not really a source of special pride xP
Most rp cliques/communities tend to have an air of superiority over others, nothing new there, and its good to have a sense of pride in a community you and your friends have built up and maintained.
