Who are we?
Dalaran Book Club is a friendly guild that caters primarily to the LGBTQIA+ community, but is welcoming to everyone. The guild has existed since 2018 and has been a place for people to call home since the days of Legion.
What do we offer?
Gameplay but with a twist - you can be yourself. I’ve always been clear throughout our existence that we are somewhere you can be yourself, but we aren’t likely to cut a path through Stormwind with a pride parade. We’re nerds first, sexuality second, but you can let your freak flag fly. If you’ve ever had someone question why you’ve mentioned your sexuality even though it was just passing conversation, this is why we’re here.
Hiding is not necessary, ever.
What content do we do?
Traditionally we’re more of a community guild but want to run raids together. We aren’t an appropriate person for sweaty gameplay so it’s unlikely you’ll find us doing Mythic raiding (although if we have a group that want to, many would come give it a go). Here’s the kind of thing you WILL see us doing though.
- Progression raiding (normal and heroic)
- PVP
- Guild levelling groups
How is Dalaran Book Club built?
We started life as a guild that grew out of a relationship. We’re ran by two guys, Hayden and Peter. I built the guild for Peter when we started dating so we could use Azeroth to spend time together when we lived apart (we live together now though).
Over time the guild grew and we built a large discord and community that plays other games together. We play WOW primarily but if it’s an MMO, you’ll see us there, and very likely the community has a guild as well.
Feel free to check us out on Argent Dawn. We are very friendly and welcoming. The advent of changes in the WOW api means we can’t directly invite, and as we’ve gotten older the guild has changed from a guild over 600 people and some of the highest activity on the EU data-centre, to a more low-key and cozy affair. If you ever didn’t like the hyper-community we once were, you would probably like us now.
How do I join?
Ask. Don’t ask for invites on the forums here as it’s very likely we won’t notice and you’ll feel ignored. Come to the Argent Dawn server itself and apply to the guild. We’re cross-faction, so bring whatever you want but because of the player base being almost entirely alliance (sigh) we’re administered in Stormwind.
ROLEPLAYING NB
We don’t really roleplay as a guild. Yes, we’re a roleplay server but that’s because that is where Peter was. He’s the roleplayer, I’m not. We have groups inside the guild who roleplay together but we don’t roleplay as a guild.
