Hello i just want to prepare for cata, i played SoD since it start, in SoD all pvp server are well faction balanced, as we all know cata is one of better pvp-focused expansion, so there is any plans for clustering/ grouping/sharding servers together to make it be a pvp server? What is a point of playing at servers like that?
Maybe is there any server that is “balanced” i missed?

Forget this, the raidloggers did cry back in the days and created this mess, didnt even Touch tbc and wrath because of this mess, wont change with cata, i already gave up sadly

There is Flamegor PvP 38A:62:H a bit off balance, but works so far. The only downside for you might be requirement of knowing Russian language 
Seeing as they’re consolidating a bunch of servers, I am hoping they will open a new server with the enforced faction balance from SoD. It seems to be working.
I can’t imagine how sad it would be to run around on Tol Barad or in the Molten Front and never see any enemy players. Much of my nostalgia of Cata came from the small scale (but common) skirmishes in these daily zones.

They will start with closing the low population servers. Then I guess they could try to either merge 2 one faction servers into 1 balanced or offer free transfers to a new server with forced balance like in SoD.
Blizzard are closing most servers and forcing you to transfer, but there was nothing mentioned about faction balance and there is no enforcement to go to one realm or the other. Horde players (the majority of PvP players) will go to Gehennas/Golemagg, which are already Horde dominated. The Alliance PvP players will go to Firemaw.
PVE servers have more Alliance players, PVP servers have more Horde players, there isn’t even a balance of players within those groups across the servers to begin with.
Same as my Terres, cata was great in pvp, if there will be no open wirld pvp cata i dead

Now with the transfers it will become worse because everyone will transfer to their faction dominated server.
The only solution is fresh Cata realms with the SoD faction balance system in place. Otherwise at present we have in practice not a single PvP realm remaining. They could merge an Alliance realm with a Horde realm but this is unlikely because apparently the players WANT it to be like this which is bizzare i have to say. At least with fresh realms with the SoD faction balance in place we might get a return to PvP.
I really don’t understand why the realms got this way. Nobody likes being ganked but i think the problem is overstated. Id much rather have the world feel alive rather than everything in game pointing to a faction war against an enemy that has long been made extinct.

This situation has persisted since late TBC, and nothing has been done to address it throughout WOTLK. I am playing with groups of friends, and we all quit because of that, and we all won’t come back to Cata just because of monofaction servers.
Blizzard doesn’t care. Sadly, we won’t see how successfuly a classic project will continue. This servers situation ruined it all.
If you enjoy WPVP, I would recommend not playing because you will be frustrated the whole time when you see empty enemy cities and all WPVP locations. I hoped there would be something done whole WOTLK, and it was a big waste of time.

Sweaty GDKP players killed world of warcraft in wotlk
so its world of raidlogging for selling raids
since they alredy did merging servers, its obv cata will be also empty
UNLESS they make a fresh locked on balanced factions so sweaty pveers wont kill it too
I dno why its hard for such players to migrant on pve server and make it one sided…why they always choose pvp realms to kill

Is it possible to play on russian realm ? There is any english guild ?
It is possible but If I am not mistaken in order to play on RU server you have to switch game into russian aswell, maybe they have changed that criteria but in the past It always been like this that you were forced playing on russian language

What are you talking about? There’s lots of pvp servers. Just check the realm list and you’ll see an abundance of PVP realms.
Nah, only thing you need is to connect the realms in clusters like ERA did, remove all PVE and PVP tags and reintroduce warmode early.
Fresh realms would just die off after the initial hype like they did in wrath.
Yeh but they are almost entirely 100% one faction. How is that a functioning PvP realm? So as I said, in practice there are no PvP realms.

No, the only chance is the closing of realms and people moving to a one sided PvP realm by mistake.
It’s a well known fact that most PvP realm players don’t want to play World PvP. Notice I don’t call them PvP players.
It still says they are PVP so they are indeed PVP. Doesn’t really matter that they are monofaction. The faction ratio is not blizzards fault. Why hasn’t anyone of the PVP lovers rolled on an opposite faction dominated realm? You’d get all the world pvp you want.
