EU servers are using cheaper hardware/infrastructure

That is why we are the laughing stock of the WOW gamer community, even youtube is making fun of us by suggesting videos like this

BAN ASMONGOLD! EU WoW Forums Are MAD About Server Lag - YouTube

During Shadowlands and DF launch 2-3 eu servers (the high pop ones) are/were unplayable. Meanwhile USA works, China works etc.

Stop being cheap and upgrade your intel celeron potato pcs blizzard

Been that way in every MMO I’ve played. EU has always been a second-class citizen.

wait, did you just unironically take seriously the word of an almost 40 year old man with rotten teeth who lived his entire adult life in his mothers attic?

NA servers has drastically less players than EU i know what you are talking about i hate it also every single event is lagging in game from time to time but compared to NA , EU has much much more population the only thing i can think they can do is add more phases in zones but i think they already are

I don’t think it is a matter of hardware differences. I think the reality is the developers live in the US, and because of this, they are able to preemptively respond to problems much faster there before they happen. It’s likely they aren’t as willing to roll out a fix to other regions unless it has been proven. There have indeed been cases in the past that NA servers would die before EU too, and EU got spared because NA “beta tested” it.

Also the entire game doesn’t literally run on one server during a play session. Often you’re hopping between them without your knowledge. This has been the case since 2004, and has only gotten more distributed over time.

same , i don’t think it’s about hardware i think they just don’t care about us as much as they do about US community , it’s a general issue.

I don’t think it is a matter of not caring, I think it’s purely a matter of logistics. I don’t know what Blizzard’s logistics for pushing fixes looks like, but there have been cases in the past where a bad fix got pushed to NA first and EU was spared.

The EU player base is massive, and thus are a massive source of revenue for Blizzard. Of course they care.

i said they care less*
at least that’s how i feel as a customer

Understood. I hope to, at the very least, see Blizzard move toward global patch releases for WoW. They do that for their other games.

I’m on a low pop realm … Azure span is lagging like crazy despite 18ms home and world and there’s 12 second delay on everything in this zone

Been like this since launch and it’s starting not to be funny anymore. Fix it plz Blizz

lag is continuing its almost midnigth and it gets worse till 2-3 am then it slowly disapperas by 5am. do u want players to play at 5am blizzard? u will also pay our wages to go job in daytime?

Pretty sure that European servers have more players than the US servers.

Why?

We have people playing on our servers from European countries, African countries, from Middle Eastern countries, even as far off as from South(east) Asia if their connection to the oceanic servers is worse.

I’ve played with plenty of people from South Africa in the past, while their ping were bad compared to mine, it’s still miles better than they’d have on the oceanic or US servers. An arena partner back in TBC/wotlk was from Dubai.

Personally i dont think its anything to do with hardware. Blizz probably have a cloud infrastructure. I think its more to do with how WOW is made and how each and every player reaction is then calculated and then communicated to other players.

The hardware can handle it but the underlying game engine and code cannot.
