I was just wondering since I’m contemplating on switching to US servers; if I unsub on my EU account, will I still be able to make a US account without having to pay for the game again, and just continue my subscription on the US account?
The regions are completely separate, you start with nothing, not even your pets, mounts or achievements are moved across.
It’s like you’ve never played before and you won’t have Shadowlands.
Also, there is no way to transfer your account across either.
Blizzard’s policy on moving to a different region or trying to play on a different region is quite simple.
It’s : “Not our problem. pay us again and pay the sub too and start over as well”.
EU account holder living in the US here.
Blizzard will not transfer your EU account over to US servers for various reasons.
If you open a US account nothing from your EU account will transfer.
As Dottie correctly said, you will be starting from WoW Vanilla to BfA unless you purchase Shadowlands.
Even then, you will be starting WoW completely fresh.
No mounts. No pets. no nothing except one level 1 character.
Yeah, that’s the reason I want to switch. Plus that’s not what I meant, I was asking if I there was a way to make a US account without having to pay for the game a second time.
This is not necessary true. Some are shared.
The hearthstone mount (Hearthsteed) for example is battle-net account bound and i have it on my US character. Also pets that you get from promotions like Core house pup (from authenticator addition) and Murkalot (Blizzcon 2013) are also on my US character.
EDIT: Actually i have just realised the Hearthsteed mount i have on US because i have a US Hearthstone account Lol
However the pets are not as i bought blizzcon access on my EU account but it being a “Blizzard” account, this is probably why
as it’s a seperate region… Nope.
You will be required to open a US account with a US region game and subscritpion.
While games like Diablo and HotS allow to freely switch realms without buying specific region copies of the gam, WoW does not.
You want o play on the US servers, you pay for the US game.
That is not quite true, I had to play and win the three games on the US version of Hearthstone to get the mount.
As others have pointed out, it’s simply not possible to transfer your account, this is not a service Blizzard offer.
It is quite easy to set up a US account on your bnet but you will need pay for everything again, another sub, and the expansion should you wish to play beyond BfA.
The only stuff that are account wide are stuff that you can only have 1 per Blizzard account like Blizzcon rewards or promotions from buying other Blizzard games (like Starcraft or Diablo collector editions). And battle pets will start at level 1 regardless how much you leveled them on the EU servers.

I was asking if I there was a way to make a US account without having to pay for the game a second time.

It’s like you’ve never played before and you won’t have Shadowlands.
You did read my post?

When buying things for your US account make sure you are always buying US licenses and NOT EU! This is very important.
The easiest way to do that is to make sure you are paying in US Dollars and not Pounds/Euros.

You will be required to make a completely fresh and NEW battle.net account
This is false. You can have EU and US WoW license on the same battle.net account, however each license (regardless of region) requires separate subscription and expansion purchase.
I did the reverse.
I started playing in US then moved to EU servers.
Other already explained what you need to do.
You won’t have to reinstall however, you can play with the same digital copy of WoW and your accounts will be possibly linked together (basically, your installation will remember both accounts in EU and US).
That said, think about why you want to do it.
Guild raids in US usually happen around 11pm-midnight to 5-6am GMT.
And you’ll probably have a ping higher than 150. Which is a little bit problematic nowadays tbh, as the game is much more fast paced than it was.

You can have EU and US WoW license on the same battle.net account, however each license (regardless of region) requires separate subscription and expansion purchase.
And yea, I totally confirm that.

“Not our problem. pay us again and pay the sub too and start over as well”.
Which is weird, since it’s not like that in Starcraft II, everything you paid for in one region you have on all regions.
The short answer to your question is no.
You have to pay a sub for each WoW license you have, no matter the region.
E.g. I have 2 accounts, one was for RAF and it required a separate sub.

You did read my post?
Yes, I was asking if I had to pay again, not if it’d save all of my stuff.

Which is weird, since it’s not like that in Starcraft II, everything you paid for in one region you have on all regions.
Because those games are identical. US WoW has slight differences than EU WoW due to a difference in laws. A big one was Brewfast was different on US servers.
Let me fix your post for you.
"Thanks for providing the information I asked for Dottie, Even though you’re a complete stranger you used your time in your life to help me, Thanks. Even though I already know the other information you said I still appreciate it and it might help other people looking for the same information, Smart of you.
Some people are so self entitled and ungreatful , honestly.
I was literally just rephrasing what I said to them, wanting to clarify that it’s specifically that portion of information I asked for, since maybe they were confused. I’m not going to thank each and every person that comments on my post along with a kiss on their hand.
