I started playing like 2 months ago because it looked like the token price was fairly cheap, it was like 15.000-16.000 gold. The current price is a new record in classic wow history, because it costs more than 34.5K at this moment. As opposite, the prices of the items on AH is just collapsing, everything become so cheap. What could be the reason of this? Do you think the token price will drop after the mega server thing happenning?

Supply and demand, a bit of inflation.
It’s the other way around. The former is expensive, the latter is cheap.
Not unless it makes a lot of players come back to the game and spend money on buying tokens.

they inflate the price when people are buying a lot of them for free subs its their way of saying ah ah ah “finger wag”

The serverpocalypse announcement triggered many people to buy tokens “so blizz doesnt get money”.

Blizzard gets even more money that way. Because one wow token costs more than 1 month of sub ( to me at least ). In order for you to buy the token from AH, someone else must’ve paid Blizzard to obtain a wow token for sale.

- MoP has gold inflation, you can easily clear vanilla/tbc raids (and quite a few of the wotlk ones) for gurenteed 10-15k gold per week per character.
- Less people playing = less tokens being available, driving price per token up.
- Mega server annoucement has people with gold in excess of current transfer cap (which is 50k for a level 90 character) dumping gold into tokens.
I expect tokens to hit 50k before christmas at this rate.

Gold cap doesn’t apply for free charcter transfers.
Also you can create and transfer characters of level 1 with any resources or gold, without limit

- You can transfer a character of any level, there is no minimum level requirement on free transfers
- You can transfer a character that was recently transferred, the free transfer ignores transfer cooldowns
- You can use the paid transfer service anytime after a free transfer, as the free transfer does not apply a transfer cooldown
- There is no limit to the gold you can bring with your character
But since some people such as you misunderstanding and really converted all gold they have above 50k to tokens - yes, this can make temporary effect to token price

Edit, i actually found the correct link (it’s number 000013842, but you have to click on an internal link inside it toactually read the revised restrictions for free transfers, funny how you can’t actually paste blizzard links in their forums)
this is really buried in a way that would stop someone doing a casual search from finding it.
Token is a very simple supply/demand system. Blizzard doesn’t artificially change the numbers.
The token used to be around 30-33k before MoP prepatch. Then when MoP prepatch hit, there were a lot of swipers buying all the tokens and made it drop hard. Now we are back to what it is supposed to be.
Also it peaked at 36k today, probably rising to around 50k is my guess.
