Remember we are playing a game from 2004. Let’s go back and get a better feel for what it was like then.
Other games released in 2004:
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Halo 2
Doom 3
Bad boys for PS2
Fight club the game for PS2
Need for speed underground 2
Driver
Chronicles of Riddick
Silent hill 4
My point is that this was a very different time. We played games that come with a fold up map in the game box lol! Now we have so much more.
Going back to any of these games with how we play now will give us the same reaction from us.
AV indeed is a disappointment in its current state, because it forces fast rep and honor farming instead of long lasting battles. The 1.0 version of AV would be way better with elite NPCs everywhere including mid, so you can’t simply rush through or camp it.
However I still enjoy the rest of the classic content as it is. For me if I go to BRD with a random group and we spend hours together, all of us have to use class abilities to reach our goal is an experience that is missing from retail for a long time and I’m glad that Blizzard made it possible again. Nerfed or not.
Man Asmongold is imo nobody to even judge about things , neither he had any experience from 2005/2006 when Mage and Prot Paladin could two man Scholomance trash mobs and few bosses.
Reality is that Horde players exclusively destroyed Classic. It’s fine, though. At least now we have concluded the war and they came out on top as the victors. If it wasn’t for Horde imbalance this game would be decent still.
I don’t think you want to take any advice from Asmon unless it’s like “how to grow your stream” or something. Granted, I haven’t watched a lot of his content/stream, but what I have watched is usually pretty pepega and he’s just ranting about stuff he knows very little about.
I have played on certain servers which shall not be named prior to Classic being released, so I suppose I might’ve been slightly better prepared than the majority of players and could be in a bit of a bubble. To me everything you said is obvious and was expected. That is why certain servers made a few changes which, in my opinion, made for a better experience. #NoChanges is and have always been a meme 'cause it is clear how silly that stance is.
“even asmongold says”
yeah well that is irrelevant because he admitted he never played vanilla, he only started playing once TBC came out.
in other words; that dude knows nothing of vanilla.
He is right though? Classic experience IS nothing like vanilla. It’s still fine and fun, could be loads better though. Even then, if Blizzard actually cared, Classic would still be totally different from vanilla.
I know what I’m talking about, I was already old when vanilla released and played it loads.
the reason i said this is because he was one of the hardest pushers of #nochanges before classic released. He admitted he was wrong about a lot of stuff, i was hoping one of the most hardcore #nochanges players admitting that things are this different would cause some of the other hardliners to reevaluate there positions.
Although in hindsight it does seem despite there aligned views a lot of #nochanges people hate streamers full stop, and especially asmongold. So there probably happy that he’s left there camp, and won’t see it as any reason to rethink
Oh sht if asmongold said it then it must be true… anyway who elected that neckbeard as a vanilla community spokesman or why does he always act like that in retail and now in classic too?
Who gives a rat’s a*s about asmo’s opinion ?
Unless you haven’t played vanilla , can’t you decide for yourself?
Of course this game is different from vanilla . First of all the population on servers is much higher, second there were layering in the early stages , third there are cross server BGs that was the worst possible thing blizz could do in the game.
There are many other minor things as well but those 3 made the game being totally different
I forgot to mention that since it is a 15 year old game you know all the tactics for all bosses and there is nothing hidden in the game since it has been explored to the maximum!
What you don’t seem to understand is that the majority of players who support #nochanges don’t do so because they’re okay with everything there is in Vanilla. Ofc there are certain things they’d like to change, but are the changes I would like to see the same ones that you would like to see, and vice versa?
In other words, I’d rather see no changes (or as little changes as possible) than see changes I don’t like being implemented.
I watch some streamer compilations from time to time, just to see what everyone’s up to.
Asmon is just one big salt factory, he screws over his friend for views, gets boosted, gets everything for free and generally is wrong about actual Vanilla.
Then i see people like Payo actually playing the game and enjoying themselves.
I’ve also seen people from pservers voice their opinion about classic and even they feel like the differences aren’t that dire to get upset about and will just keep playing.
To sum it up.
People who actually play the game and put effort into it enjoy themselves, because that’s what the journey is about.
The people cheesing their way through the game will whine and quit at the first progress wall they hit.
That retard was saying how classic is hard and raids are hardcore and how pvp is the pinnacle of skill… before release…
After release when MC was downed 4th day in a manner we all know, he says: Nothing is hard in classic… we all knew that…
What a clown. What a retard… and even bigger retards are the ppl who literally adopt his opinion, no matter he will change it next week.
You don’t like retail, you don’t like Classic… maybe WoW just isn’t your (and asmogolds) cup of tea?
Than again… you think you do, but you don’t… which may very well be the case. I had 60 ppl playing classic on my friend list the first month… there is 2-3 now… at peak times.
My personal opinion; I got bored of Classic 1 week after hitting 60… farming gold and brainded PvE just doesn’t cut it for me… and PVP in form of horse riding, what a joke that is.
