This is me hoping but, in story panels devs said though they are not planing on making nightborne eligible for demon hunter class, we should be looking out for new class/race combos in the future.
And given the blood elvn lore and lore of Eversong, druids could be a fine addition, why?
-In OC lore elven rangers used nature magics, in fact whole jist of Sylvanas and dark rangers were that, nature would have rejected their undead nature, hence they would return to darker magics instead.
-Though not druids, they had close tie to nature, they had groves, and treants, and even took care of them. Reason why they appear hostileis because after the implosion of thesunwell, treants were driven to madnes. And in another grove, elves had to burn it to stop of taint but prior to that, the caretaker of that grove even had a special tie to the treant keeper there.
And lastly? Deatholme? The massive scourage facility? In lore it is built on a giant tree that formed after soaking up the magics of the Sunwell (much like nordrasil and well of eternity, but this wasn’t a branch of the oc world tree).
It was called Thas’alah (Light of the Forest): Shortly after the Highborne exiles created the Sunwell and founded the kingdom of Quel’Thalas, the well’s magic began to radiate outward through the surrounding woods, and the forest’s oldest tree began to absorb its energy. The massive tree was named “Thas’alah”, and from its enchanted branches, the entire region seemed to bathe in the glow of an eternal spring.
To protect themselves from attacking Amani forest trolls, the Highborne created a series of monolithic Runestones that both acted as wards against intruders and hid the elves’ arcane magic from the Burning Legion. The wards succeeded in keeping the elves’ enemies out of Silvermoon City partly due to their anchor: the elven arcanists had linked the Runestones to Thas’alah, tying the power of natural magic to their arcane spells. However, the tree’s power could not keep the Highborne safe when they left the city.
It worked QUITE similar to Nordrassil too, though it was cut down in lore it’s roots had survived, and I think it would be nice to see a slowly blooming eternal spring tree within the cleansed Eversong?
