Why would we need to prove anything or give you any reason to play SoD ? From your uninspired list you seem to believe retail is better than SoD, then play retail mate.

I 100% agree with the OP, retail is better but it has been 20 years in development while SoD is an experimental game with very short development. It doesnāt try to be better itās just a place where devs can experiment with new features without having long lasting impact on the game after the season ends. Who knows if successful we could see shaman tanks in retail one day. Rogue tanks no thank you.

Honestly Pet battles are such a negligent little mini game that doesnāt really contribute to anything other than some fun content for the niche group of people who want to play warcraft PokĆ©mon, idk why even mention it

Do yourself a favor a take a break from SoD till p4. The devs obviously did so and there is no worst feeling than playing a game abandoned by its devs. The focus is obviously on cata atm, hopefully theyāll be able to do something decent in the next month so p4 offers some proper content and a better pvp balance.
Pet battles are mentioned because they distract the players.
And they have nothing to do with WoW lore as far as i know

Lack of mounts because they trivialize the world
Lore because retail is a mess. For me, the story only makes sense up to Wrath.
The existence of transmog is also an negative for me. I want fidelity in actual gear and image

100% Personal opinion.
I agree that wotlk was awsome, but you canāt just make such a Statement without any further explanation. Every Version of the game had itās own pros and cons.
