Evidently, the community has a common opinion about Dracthyr

Thank you for sharing my thoughts as well i dislike it when somebody claims to speak for us all

I already have made so many jokes to my group that i am going to breath bomb them so much  I am going to hold the (empowered) button for 12 seconds to make their whole screens full of green :muscle: I can’t wait! Ok, maybe i fantasized a bit too much about it.

did you gather the opinions of every member of the community to claim such a thing?

Do you have backup for your claims here or is this just another my opinion equals everybodys opinion thread? I like the lizards and i love that i can play the female human model as a horde player plus its a healer!!! super hyped for the new race/class.

I think the humanoid forms and options are pretty good but I’m not really hyped about their dragon form. Hopefully they allow combat outside of it, only briefly shifting into dragon form, sprouting wings, or morphing specific body parts for individual actions/spells.

Honestly, I’m not getting this criticism. I mean sure, the more options the merrier, if we could have optional bulkier models that’d be fantastic, but don’t remove my skinny dragons please. I’m fed up with bulky oonga boonga races (ehem Humans, Orcs, Draenei, Tauren)…

This so much, indeed. I would like the option to race change a few of my characters to a Dracthyr, sadly I can’t because they’re locked to only one class… and that’s the new class no less. Hopefully we’ll be able to play as Mages, Warriors and perhaps Druids some time in the future.

You’re missing a third main issue, though:

3. Visage form should not work like Worgen’s Human form.

We should be able to combat our foes in our Visage form as well. Make it so that those draconic abilities that only make sense as a Dragon automatically activate our dragon form and then revert back to Visage form. Something like the eye beam ability Demon Hunters have.

There is an overwhelming number of people willing to moan on the internet, that much is true.

My guess is that the dracthyr are genderless (alchemy created as far as we know) and them having gender as an option for their humanoid shape is just something they choose on.
They’re not dragons, sure you can say its a shame that drakonids wouldn’t be playable but they’re very likely very loyal to their respective dragonflights.

Apparently these by deathwing created dracthyr are a different tale, their starting zone is the dragon isles so there’s a good chance they were created just before the dragons decided to peace out of the island, so they’ll have less strong ties to the aspects if they’ve been abandoned and alone for the last 10k years. (More incentive to go out and adventure and join the horde or alliance)

It’s all assumptions at this point tho we’ll need to know more but I like these lizards, the shape being the same because of lack of gender (if thats a thing cause alchemy created) then imo the design choice of the dracthyr form as is, is spot on.

The main thing I’m miffed at is the online criticism which basically boils down too

nooo you got my fetish wrong change it to fit my fetish

Yup, I like them.

People who moan matter more than people who blindly glorify and worship everything Blizzard releases. They matter more to Blizzard especially. Believe me when I say that if Blizzard had to meet one of you guys they would not be choosing the fanboy with zero feedback and no criticism. They prefer people who help them sell the game, not people who spam hearts and emoji and say they just cannot wait to make their dragon because they only play WoW and get excited over every little piece of content.

The dracthyr are too skinny. The Evoker needs a melee specialization.

Well I would honestly prefer a mini quadpedal dragon over a bipedal dragon
For the bipedal dragon I think FF10 had nailed it better.

They are reptiles, which makes identification much more difficult. It’s good that they didn’t go in the direction of TES, because Argonians don’t have any sense.

The model would look much better with a few minor changes.

Most people who don’t like it just lost faith in Blizzard after certain past unpleasant experiences.
They just want to be right this time and lower their expectations.

Too much hater bias doesn’t help anyone really, so far most of the criticism on Dragons is far from being constructive or objective. Thicc dragons or thin dragons is smth which can be added later if the race itself will be popular.

Gameplay is king and Casual friendly gameplay is the emperor. Ill wait for loot / progression / gameplay in depth systems preview to form somewhat objective opinion.
But I am gonna pre-purchase it on my new acc anyway, i won’t miss dragons

They look like an overgrown D&D Kobold, as compared to a more typical Warcraft look regarding both mortals and dragons, which are the constituent elements it’s very jarring and I’ve already seen some very nice feedback regarding the strange proportions like this

All of my friends who who are way too online and talk about WoW on reddit/twitter hate it. All of the ones who aren’t think it’s cool as hell.

I don’t like it very much (but the class is cool) so I think I need to take a break from the internet.

I like the look but I want to be able to play more classes with the race

Actually to be honest, for once I actually see far more people disliking it than it being mixed.

I think it’s hard to judge, people are quicker to complain than to praise.

I was super hyped yesterday, then info came out about how they intend to tackle M plus and now I’m not so hyped.

Honestly I think I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen the design being praised.

While memes are everywhere and not in a positive manner.
