Same. I do think Dracthyr could stand to do with more classes however, the animations are already there and in use. It’s not that I don’t like Evoker, but the thought of a Dracthyr mage is pretty cool as well.
Also there is a ton of toys that let you adjust how you look like, I’ve seen a Dracthyr that’s running around as a tuskarr most of the time.
And i assume with time passing by i assume Dracthyr will learn how to adapt to other Specs, and use of weapons. I can tell there’s already a animation existing for a Dracthyr holding a Bow. So maybe in a few years Dracthyr Hunters are a thing. But I still think Evoker will be locked to Dracthyr as fire breathing night elves and taurens simply make absolutely no sense

Only reason i wont play them is because you dont see mogs on dragonform, and i assume dragonform is like druid form where you spend most of your time

Most fan made stuff is an amateur dumpster fire, so no, it won’t be always better.
Also, a lot of alternatives for dragon-kin races are made by professional artists for sites like ArtStation, and it’s not a fan art.

If anything, people were dissatisfied with Dracthyr race because ppl wanted Blizzards Drakonids to be a dragon-kin playable race.
well we do have akama for the draenei explanation but realistically they should have limited this to a new broken one or lost one customisation to keep with that theme.

Pretty sure the entire concept of the race is to appeal to some higher up’s fet… fantasies.
They took the very awesome concept of dragons in WoW and turned it into some abomination that one would only find in websites where the light won’t shine.
And since they KNOW it is going to be a failure and not everyone is a furry or is into skinny lizards they had to race lock it.
Pretty sure all the dragons can turn into any race they like, and just like balance druids a glyph that keeps them in their racial form would do the trick, but they wouldn’t do that since the race would probably be as dead as warcraft reforged.
FYI, when Blizzard artists make something, they often use reference images, and sometimes it’s just fan art from a different game. Getting annoyed by the influence of fan art is kinda pointless, because A) Blizzard does it when they design their game, and B) looking at art of other people allow us to be more creative, and discover new ideas for art.

I’m glad with Dracthyr as it is actually. Sure could be better, but it could be even worse. What I’m heavily missing is flying by myself

Yea ok, but the judged concept is not a unique thing, it’s just a different iteration of something which already exists, so it’s natural to compare one to another.
Also, if you’re just going to judge design for what it is, you can’t discover whether you are doing a good job or not. That’s a straight line to a failing business.
They should have made the class avaible to every single race and just have said that the race is your visage.
But yeah dracthry need a huge rework. They are so damned ugly, nobody would imagine this if they got told to describe a cool dragon race
