Evoker fighting stance in visage form

Hello people, I’d like to report something that’s bothering me.

I’m trying to use my evoker in visage form as much as possible. I’m not a big fan of the scally form, but I do love the class as a healer. First, that’s a shame that I’m locked into an ugly form that doesn’t even shows my transmog when I’m playing the new class, but ok.
Using the sin dorei orb, I can see the breath spells used as a hand blast spell, and that looks awesome, we could use that for the visage. About the flying stuff, we could use the hovering animation that there is when double jumping, it looks really good, and since hands are turned downard, the spell effect would even look cool and plausible.

Secondly, when casting a spell in visage form, like vivid flame or stuff like that, my character just goes into a fist fighting stance. That feels really weird for a spell caster. I guess they decided to go the monk route with the character skeleton animation, but fist fighting for a mage feels like a buggy state of the class when doing it, like there are some missing animations or something.
Hell, my character doesn’t even take his weapons in hands when in fighting stance. Could we at least use the mage stance between spells if not a more warrior-y stance ? That would feel better.

Thanks for reading me ^^

Nope and stop asking for a glyph to stay in human form dractyrs are basicly dragons so ofc you are turning into a dragon while in combat.

Drakthyr are as beautiful in their true form as they are in the illusion. Its a magic, an illusion so not a form as is.

Anyways i can see how using magic in that form might cause problems, but they are in naturem magic problems so the fist fighting stance does not really cut it. I can understand how they could be stretched to keep visage up while using healing spells in low stress situation, but whether that visage stays up should be rng based, not forced and whgen they get actually hit by someone orr something, they should revert to their true form.

I had the similar problem back at Cataclysm with Worgen. I would rather stay human than turn to wolf as most of the actions in most classes felt weird as a worgen… Like having to use a restrictive armor or better yet, a sword while they have 5 deadly, sharp weapons in each arm they have including hind legs plus the big teeth. Only class that felt a bit natural was rogue, but even that had the armor that was basically messing things up… As if that leather armor would just stretch that much without breaking up. With todaus transmogs though it feels better since you can basically have own set of gear for both forms havbing just ragged pants in wolf and then change back to normal clothing when not. For example in town.

Back then though, i hoped Worgen would have had their own special class to play instead of all the basic classes or have a base class and different class fopr Worgen. That would have made sense.

Drakthyr in the other hand arte trained as soldiers which the evoker is. They are trained and they have been sleeping in Dragon isles for ages so its pretty natural trhat no other race has thjat class. No other class would know of their special training lest some vague myth about dragonic warriors. I feel like they are as they should be, but the visage should have complete freedom on transmog as a magical illusion overlay on top of natural form does not need to reflect the classes armor type but then again, they have their natural armor, they dont really need mail armor either but i guess its an extra protective solution that individual evoker may or may not use.

it’s a kinda meh request in the first place have you EVER seen a aspect or a dragon for that matter fight in their visage form I’m pretty sure there are none who have because it’s just a illusion to make interacting with the mortal races easier

it’s like asking for worgan to fight their human form then their not worgan anymore just another flavour of the most bland race in the game

Why do people play Dracthyr and then complain that they want to play a flying, firebreathing Blood Elf?

I’d much rather they also give Evoker more forms, defaults like Tauren, etc etc, I am not sure if Undead would be suitable? but I frankly is getting already tired of seeing everywhere on Argent Dawn, infected by Elfs, like why would a Horde evoker choose a human form anyway, doesn’t the NPCS tell you to choose a form of your liking?

Not a “human” form…
Or have you seen any other humans with pointy ears, scales and horns?

It’s as close as human as possible, like comon, it’s literally the same model, just different lips, and some shaped ears.

So we agree it is not a human. Good. :+1:

It really is not. Its a new model with body representing a bit more natural approach to human body.

Or at least it is altered version of human body with bit more natural proportions. The head is more different though. I do apreciate the fact that they did a better model for the visage form that other races have, but naturally they forgot to add different body shapes like in the Drakthyr’s true form where there are a bit different shapes of body.

No, just like with Worgens.

I do hope they open up the Dracthyr for a few more classes though.

Yes more classes would actually open up the possibility to fight in Visage as no other Class uses the Draconic Features

This! I don’t enjoy the fact that my visage form is limited to a human-looking female or an elf-looking male. Visage form is illusionary magic so really I should be able to pick one of the playable races we have, and select that as my visage form. Ebonhorn wanted to fit in with the peaceful HM Tauren so he selected that as his visage. Onyxia wanted to sow discord with the humans of Stormwind so chose human as her visage. I love that idea! Undead visage form would not be a stretch of the imagination because it’s nothing more than a spell which changes their appearance.

It really is, I make 3D modeling all the time, it’s a texture, better polished than the human model, that is it, same with the male, it’s the same human skelly, it’s the same modeling, the face as well, eyes, is all edited textures, so no idea why people fighting the fact it’s 2 models of a choice, it’s the human-elven, and why would a Horde Evoker, pick that as their form, they should consider adding more in the future, not giving them all the kind of options like the “newer” models, just default let people pick another visage form.

Because they are the only ones that are evoker (which, coming from people stating that they are trying to make every race, able to pick any class, might come out as a bit hypocritial)

Also, worgen have their form up because of stress and rage. It’s a hex they have uppon them. Dragons just choose this form however they want.

If it was only illusion, then they shouldn’t be able to enter buildings, even in their human form… And they do, several times we saw one in the Stormwind castle. So it’s not just an illusion, they actually shapeshift, like druids, and druids can assume their animal form, which isn’t their original form, whenever they want, even during fights.

I’ve also been an advocate for worgen human form all the way. I don’t see why more choice would be bad, especially when there is easy solutions to allow it. As I said, all the animations are already in the game, using the Sin Dorei orb makes everything fluid, even the ice claw is just a punch but the animation looks really good as a Belf, since we use the same skeleton as them, easy to implement.
All that needs to change is the fighting stance, and allowing full time visage form. And make deep breath, tail sweep and wing gust transform us again in dragons

And I like the dragon form, I’d use it from time to time, and while flying etc… just that almost no transmog shows on them. Not even weapons, and that’s really sad.

Saragosa does when you kill her.
When dragons die in their visage, they stay in it and it was the way you draw out Malygos.
Azuregos does too in one of the Legion weapon scenarios, but goes dragon when there’s more space.

Although, if you don’t like having to be in dracthyr form, it may be best to play a class that isn’t exclusively theirs.

you’re not new to these forums, do you really have to ask that?

Again, this is the only race able to play the new class
