Evoker too squishy?

Seem to be taking a lot of damage compared to other classes.

Agreed! Dies far quicker than any other class in dungeons currently

They are a bit of a glass cannon, but they do have some pretty decent healing and hover to kite enemies. I’d say based on the damage they do and the utility they have, they should be rather squishy.

It is weird how easily they die, specially considering they use mail, the second strongest armor.

Then again, does armor matter anymore? We have leather Tanks after all, feels more like it’s the spec that matters more than what they’re wearing.

there players like Fire and standing in Aoe they are dps after all :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if it’s more of a newbie effect; players with less experience are drawn to a new class because it’s shiny and due to them not being the best they end up dying a lot more.

Only played my Dracthyr in the starter zone and it felt ok.
But as a Shaman I’ve noticed that I’m squishier now than I used to be back in ye olde days.

I think Mail Armour is the weakest armour in the game for some reason…

My mage dies faster if I don’t have my barrier up.
Mobs be hitting different in DF though.

I have not experienced this, played ele from 60-62 then switched too Enhance, stil pull large packs and solo elites without much issue.
My gear was around Heroic Castle Nathria (That’s when i quit playing during shadowlands, right after we finished Castle Nathria HC)
so like 212-220?

Currently doing ok but I’m in 252 (some 272) gear from ZM, Storms and Doomwalker. The quest rewards are ~230 so I outgear it for now.
Leveling in SL was ok, quest mobs haven’t been tough for a long time but when I got to The Maw I certainly felt very squishy. I left Torghast until I had some better gear as I didn’t feel geared enough, then they ruined it with timers and box of many grinds.

Yea well i agree the Maw was tough, but i found that for all classes.

I thought you refered to the current Dragon Isles.

I was more reminiscing on how tough I used to feel back in ye olde days. A shaman could just about tank a dungeon (main issue was holding aggro).

The Maw was fine on my Pally and DK but they were in Tank Spec. My warlock was fine too with Voidy to tank.

armor class has not been relevant since wolk :stuck_out_tongue: in most cases in modern wow the clothies are more tanky then a dps plate

I felt pretty good til I started replacing my gear. Then it went to poo. Now I hit like a noodle and mobs die so slow I get respawned on.

this happens pretty much every new expansion. Gear ilvl rises very quickly when you level up, so mobs scale with that in mind. So after a few levels you pretty much need your gear entirely replaced otherwise you will hit like a wet noodle. i am 69 now and i started doing good damage again, but i am pretty sure when i hit the max lvl things suddenly will take longer to kill again because they will be scaled to max lvl content

everyone takes dmg - especialy in dungeons later in leveling. scaling is a bit off atm - there is enormous difference bettween first 2 dungeons and next 2 while leveling .

like the dot that stacks to 10 and only then falls off - then the dot spreading mechanic that ticks like 20k per tick . tuning is bad like always on launch .

maybe on max level it levels out? dunno im 69 so cannot tell

get gear and you will stop getting killed.

yes scaling hits you hard arnound level 65 even if you had 300 itlv gear from SL.

its bad because expansion was rushed and wasnt tested.

you go from anihilating everyting on 60 to hitting like wet noodle on 65 . its strange but its blizzard.

now we gonna have to spend 3 tiers getting to the levels of secondaries effect that you had at the end of SL untill your class feels as fun to play like it did in s3 and 4 of SL.

Leather tanks may have something that increases their defense  but I agree, no idea what armor means. Well, ok, holy cloth priest they still die super fast!

Verdant Embrace, Renewing Blaze, Obsidian Scales and Obsidian Bulwark, Emerald Blossom + Inner Radience with a Cauterezing Flame here and there (and a little Expunge) with an emergency Living Flame ( Inner Radience again and Engulfing Blaze if you have a point to spare) on self (with these, some Scarlet Adaptation thrown in to the mix) are keeping me alive quite nicely to be honest as a Destructor

I noticed the same thing. I wanted to hit 70 with devastation evoker because, well it’s a new thing, but it felt too damn weak and I was almost dying to pretty much every group bigger than 2 mobs. Sometimes I had problems with killing single rares on all CDs and so on. There were times where I can pull 4-5 mobs but I had to use all CDs and be really lucky with procs/crits/etc. And since I was leveling LW and buying from AH, my gear also did not seem to be an issue. I also got paired with other classes to complete quests faster and they were in much better shape.

Yesterday I went to dragon isles with my war in much worse gear and I am literally annihilating everything in my way, can pull 3-4 times more mobs and cant even get under 80% of HP. It feels like I am god here.

Maybe if dev evokers got a little bit better heals or some better fillers during the rotation. I don’t know about the restoration but to me, the devastation feels pretty underwhelming.
