For certain Asian players who are on EU right now, playing as an Evoker or having Evokers nearby is causing world ping to spike into the thousands.
1 Evoker will spike it up to 1000, while 2 Evokers can spike it up beyond 10000.
Skill casting is not necessary, only the presence of an Evoker will cause the lag.
Tested from Japan to EU.
This may be related to the cut undersea cables near Yemen, but it’s weird that it’s only Evokers causing this lag, and constantly at that.
This was tested on fresh installs of wow, without addons and completely cleared cache for both wow and battlenet client. Also on different ISP. The client, other software including security software and the pc+routers have been ruled out as the problem.
If you’re playing from Asia, simply avoid playing with or near Evokers.
Don’t invite Evokers into your groups, and if you end up in a dungeon or raid group with an Evoker, it’s probably best to leave.
Get back to this thread with findings if you’re having massive lagspikes on EU from Asia.
