Exception for Authenticator - Authenticator Does NOT Work in China for European players

Dear Blizzard,

I am a Dutch expat, living and working in China. Naturally, I still play on EUW realms.

The Authenticator App requires a Chinese ID to login when opening the App in China, therefore it is absolutely impossible for me to actually use Authenticator.

Furthermore, if using a VPN, it requires a Dutch phone number, which I no longer have.

I have opted many years ago after moving to China to remove the Authenticator security feature from my account for those reasons.

Now you are ruining my in-game experience.

Before rolling out such (most likely) IT-driven decision (assuming considering my corporate experience), have you thought about exceptions for players who are in situations that limit them from using your Authenticator App?

I’m very accustomed to creating my own group for specific bosses in LFG (as bosses are non-linear, and simply viewing killed bosses doesn’t logically portray which boss is aimed to be killed next), and I am not able to do so anymore due to your decision.

Please help to apply an exception to my account.

Cheers,
A long-time WoW player

you are a european wow player living in china …

booster?

is the chinese internet as fast/good as the rumors say?

The internet within China is quite quick, however using non-China hosted websites can be quite a nightmare.

Playing WoW on EUW heavily depends on your hardware aside of your connection and requires a tunneled (end to end) VPN in order to play with stable but always with at least very minor input delay, in other words, you can never parse orange on e.g. DPS or perfectly timed raid heals, hence I prefer playing as a tank. Playing without a VPN is a nightmare, huge input lag and you will disconnect frequently.
