Honestly I think only reason Blade of Jusice exists instead Exorcism is to balance and redirect our damage more in to Physical school.

also while on that topic bring back WoTLK Divine Storm animation because the (not-so-new anymore) animation looks atrocious as opposed to the old one

I liked Exorcism way more than Blade of Justice too.
I also loved WoD's Final Verdict, which was 100 times cooler than "blade growing from the ground" to me, and makes me sad they didn't somehow keep the animation (Bfa Templar's Verdict is cool as hell tho, and same sound as Final verdict so i guess i can't complain too much!)
I can see why people like BoJ, so maybe Blizz could work on a glyph or something? It would be cool to be able to choose.

I like both Blade of Justice and Exorcism. The former for the reasons Stormenson mentioned and the latter because it was more versatile. I might be misremembering; prior to Legion I had not played my paladin since Cataclysm but back then exorcism had a 30yd range as opposed to 15 and it had a cast time and no CD so you could spam it on a target at a distance. It was a proc that made it instant.

You'd rarely use it to damage something at range but having the option was nice. I'm all for situational uses.

Surely if you accept that Paladins can perform an exorsisum then it makes sense that the holy paladin would be the one to do it not the ret. You know the paladin that focus on useing light magic to heal and cleanse people as opposed to the paladin that uses weapons and light magic to kill people

While I get that this posts isn't about the class fantasy I will say that when you look at it objectively exorsisum really doesn't make sense for ret. It would be like giveing them smite and holy fire. blade of wrath is much more in keeping with the class fantasy

Honestly exorcism sounds like a priest ability. Imagine a holy crusader doing a exorcism (Now that I say out aloud it sounds cool but the victim would just be straight up killed)

I agree! I support this. While on that note about glyphs and Final Verdict... The angelic wings that pop out on your back really annoy me, I don't know why but the more I see it the more I hate it!

Would love a [Glyph of Final Verdict] "Angelic wings empower your Final Verdict."
...and that's it. You put the glyph on - you have wings, no glyph - no wings. Simple.

This is warcraft, not hollywood, check out the pala's exorcism abilities in the warcraft RTS games. Then you'll understand.

It is still a holy ability it fits the Holy paladin more then it does retribution.
But the ability looked bad it was a reskin of other abilities.
And it was either op or terrible. Never a middle ground.
I am all for giving the look back for you people but the spell itself is not good.

I miss Exorcism being a rare ability that only worked on undead, demons and when you could finally use it the ability mostly one shot the target...

You could even use it on forsaken players.

The new spell Blade of Justice animation is kind of trash and his animation sounds like someone is beating in the pan near your ears... Return the Exorcism and make the pal great again!11

But I prefer a big hammer animation to hammer on somebody/something.

The only weapon with which the blade spell makes sense is Ranseur of Hatred (the red version) since its more or less the same blade on it as on the spell

I am ok with only sound effect of exorcism. I really miss the sound effect of it :(

it's never gonna happen apparently just how hard could it be to make a glyph that changes the stupid sword coming out of the ground into exorcism in all but damage and range there you go 5 minute fix is apparently too hard for a multi-billionaire company

same for divine storm literally 5 minutes to change to the old animation with a glyph

stupid game
