It’s sad to hear that, but they’re still staying together and even getting a few older members back rather than calling it quits, which is nice to see.
"However, during this time, many of us have developed many other pursuits, commitments, and hobbies. And World of Warcraft itself, unfortunately, has not shown any attempts to evolve over the past few years, and it becomes challenging to devote time to a game if there is nothing attractive, except for raids. In this regard, such a solution looked optimal for us - this way, we can continue to enjoy the raiding and keep our roster. Of course, some of our players will continue hardcore raiding, and I will gladly recommend them to the best guilds in the world. However, some of the old players who stopped playing with us some time ago due to the inability to dedicate such serious raid time will rejoin us again!
This is why we do not say goodbye. We will continue to play together, stream our progression, and partner with sponsors who have helped us over the past years. See you on the broadcasts of our raiders and members of the Exorsus community! https://www.twitch.tv/team/exorsus"
It’s always struck me as weird that it’s such a binary decision to be a guild competing for world first and not just an organic byproduct of raid success. But it’s of course because those top guilds take it to such an extreme where it transcends normal gaming and turns into a professional endeavor.
A part of me sort of looks forward to the day where the last top guild quits the world first race. I wonder what the world first race will look like then…
It’ll be interesting to see if the hyper-competitive Russian players will gravitate toward another guild now and if we’ll see something new emerge or not.
And then the rest of the wow community takes it to heart and starts following the hype and the devs are forced to turn the game into a competitive e-sports and then we get this content draught and overall people complaining but the loud Elitist minority will still love it.
It is ok to be excited and watch a sports team succeed it’s like watching a football(Soccer) to me with friends but i don’t get influenced by it i still have fun in my own way.
This is just my opinion i urge you people to not take it to heart these are just my thoughts on the whole esports scene.
I’m… honestly not that upset about this. I happen to think Exorsus are some truly great people, and this is just the next phase in their lives. Have fun, you lot.
Can’t say I’m surprised, just the amount of effort you need to put into world first raiding is crazy.
Tbh I’m surprised that not more top guild have quit with the current state of the game.
Still sad to see such a established name go
After a recent discussion held within the guild, we decided to switch to an evening raiding format with two raid days a week. Many may be surprised by such a decision. As an RL and GM of the Exorsus guild for 12 years, this guild has long ceased to be just a raiding place; it has become a part of my lifestyle, and after weighing everything well, I concluded that this is the only way.
We are one of the oldest guilds in the World of Warcraft hardcore scene, and we also have probably the most stable roster. Even during the Castle Nathia progression, 12 out of 20 people who took part in our World First played with the guild for almost five years (for lovers of nostalgia - our beautiful videos from the Legion add-on - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiOEz5YWHO4, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5BTdavXUSc, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt-MPGPn970). In some cases, we have been together with some raiders for over ten years. During this time, the guild turned into a great community; we often met in real life, many became close friends or colleagues.

Theres still Pieces (I think) plus Method are slowly rebuilding so still a few guilds in it. Not that I take any interest in World First races though…
One issue is that the day that happens is the day where WoW as a game has such a small playerbase that it may be at the point of questioning if it’s worth keeping the servers going. Raiding is the biggest selling point of WoW and there will always be some small community that takes it to the extreme. The only question is if there will be anyone interested in sponsering those players for a world first race.
As someone who plays a bit of Heroes of the Storm, the day after the pronounced death of a game is actually pretty sweet. It becomes the start of some kind of a renaissance if you will, for those who remain.
I am happy for them and surprised it took this long tbh .
I feel Blizzard treated them poorly they moved Alliance to use DID racial and because they are not horde or from US Blizzard slapped DID with the nerf button making all the money and effort they did worthless .
