Explain Slam to me as Fury?

What is the purpose of Slam compared to Rampage? Rampage has 4 hits which all can crit and damage is the same. Only difference is Rage spent.

Why would I ever use Slam when Whirlwind does the same dps and does not cost any rage at all? I understand the PvP point though to make sure CC chains wont break but other than that Im struggling to find the reason for Slam. Am I missing something?

I don’t even have it in my bars as fury…

You dont use it as a Fury, and you use it as Arms as a filler.

Slam is an excellent teaching tool. It’s there for new players as a learning curve. The more experienced you get with Fury the more you realize you should not use Slam in your rotation. I’m glad there are skills in your spellbook that you shouldn’t use in certain specs. It just divides good players from bad players and since it’s quite obvious Slam is not for Fury everyone who plays as a Fury warrior knows they’re good at it because they learned on their own (I hope) that this skill is bad for you.

Slam as Fury is a trap.

Yeah not using Slam but highly disagree that spec should have Abilities you dont want to put in your bars. Its like Corruption with cast time for Demonology. Only needs hotfix these away from specs. Unless they have usage in future expansions that is somehow unfinished train of thought.

i do use slam as arms as a filler when i cant use anything else and i dislike autoattacking waiting for mortal strike

i replaced slam with onslaught on my bar. its awesome, basically a 2nd execute

i still have slam on my shield-bar tho. fulfills its purpose there i guess…? idk i barely play fury with shield its just in case if i pick the flag

So you mean that its sometimes better to spend 20 Rage on Slam than wait 80 for Rampage? Thanks this is what I was thinking all along. Onslaught is amazing too when you are Enraged. Keeping them both at by bars ty! Button count has never been a problem to me.

i said i use it on my shield bar. thats a second actionbar that i have made for playing with a shield. …

I really wouldn’t mind shield slam. It would make more sense it if we had stances back. being able to quickly offtank something when the tank dies is something i always appreciated about the warrior class.

try playing hunter it might fit better to your gamesense.

Rampage also Enrages you and Enrage is a Fury spec mechanic that enhances performance and works well with Cruelty Talent. There is no reason to use ever use Slam other than filler, when you just have to do 25% worth damage compared to Rampage.

Don’t know why you suggest this, since hunter never ever had a tankspecc involved, beside of offtanking with a tankpet. I tried hunter, in fact, it was one of my first classes I tried but I dind’t enjoy it that much.

If it wasn’t clear when I said Slam was a trap. It’s not meant to be used by Fury Warriors, take it off your bars and forget about it. If you’re not an Arms Warrior you don’t use Slam.

You know Slam could easily be made usable. Like one hotfix. Remove its Rage cost and we can use it instead of Whirlwind. Just for example. Or people dont like buttons in 2020 anymore?

That’s entirely irrelevant to the conversation, using it is never the correct answer as fury. If they change that then fine but that’s not the situation right now. I couldn’t really care less what wet flannel ability is used as a filler anyway.

No it is not irrelevant to the conversation. This is a Warrior forums and I can talk what ever I want. You probably dont care about it but I do. Think its an oversight from Blizzards part.
