Explain xmog rules?

I was told with warband, you could now run old content on any character and all the xmogs would be unlocked (even if you found cloth piece you didnt have on a warrior, or a shaman piece when you’re on a rogue, etc…) but this isnt the case.

I just did Tomb Of Sargeras on my main and I have many pieces for other classes that afterlooted did not grant me those appearances, not when vendoring them either. Is this a bug, or an exception to the new xmog loot rules?

If the item is class resteicted , it only learns it on that class

If the item is armor/weapon type restricted, it learns on all

This will be fixed in the upcoming patch tho, so you can hold on to class restricted items and it will get learned once the patch releases.

I thought you can put class restricted items in the warband bank and use it on the correct class?, I’m sure I did this with tier tokens from BT last week

too late lol, vendored it

nah u cant

Did dragon soul last night for the shield. Got it on my hunter and unlocked the transmog no problem so at least that works. The shield is not class restricted.

You can restore the item/s if you want.

Some expansions/raids didn’t have tokens (Vanilla and Legion I think). So the raid just drops a set piece, and that isn’t warbound it’s soulbound.

You can only collect it on any character if it doesn’t have a class restriction. So, for example, all weapon transmogs can be obtained, and so can all of the raid sets from BFA and most of Shadowlands.

Class restrictions are getting removed in 11.0.5, however. If you have any in your bag/bank then they will automatically get added to collections when the patch comes out. It will be early November.

^^^ Whew that’s good! Good thing I haven’t started on any mog runs just yet~

I was told in TWW … all transmog restrictions will drop.
Why I cant transmog a dagger to one-hand sword then?

Who told you that?
Because that is not true.

I wish it was true.

I think the Blizz Devs told me that with a long TWW adv video a few months ago

Maybe I missunderstood them… but Im pretty sure they said about mog restrictions will be gone in TWW, even there were posts in this forum about this.

PS: Its a joke to not be able to transmog “one-handed sword” to small “two-handed sword”… Also in my case - dagger to sword or whatever. Daggers are only moggable with daggers only. No fist-weapon , nothing.

It must be a misunderstanding then yes, because they really have never said such a thing.

There was some confusion about unlocking transmog for a bit - some devs said one thing and other devs said something different. But that’s been cleared up. Maybe your misunderstanding stems from that?

Now; I do hope they’ll lose more of the restrictions.
I’d love to transmog leather as a hunter, for instance.

As people said even if you did you can just put it in the bank and wait for the patch and then vendor it afterwards.
