This abomination needs to be removed from the game or reworked. I don’t know who though it was good idea to make people scrap for 4 hours to get half decent amount of expulsom. Everything needs expulsom and there is no way obtaining it outside of scrapper. At least we could farm blood of sargeras.
Yesterday i finally decided to drop herbalism and get leatherworking to craft my 385. I wasted over 90k to mats for prof scrapping because to be able to craft 385 pants you need 150 expulsom. I started at 00:30 ish and finished at 04:50 ish. I got f’d by random stats rng but it’s a different story. I’m not crying here for my 90k , i’m crying here for my 4 hours wasted time. I remember at the start of xpac i was crafting darkmoon decks and literally wasting +10 hours at scrapper.
Why can’t emissaries reward 5-10 expulsom? Why can’t some of the wq’s reward 1-5 expulsom? It just doesn’t make any sense.
Crafting reagent distribution is a bit out of place, true.
Expulsom is supposed to be entry level and is the rarest, sanguicell is raid level and is the most abundant.
The scale is completely backwards.
If they want me to get 150 expulsom for a complete rng stats drop rate should be at least %40 ish.
I disagree on the outcome proposed. The time investment is tall, true, but max level items shouldn’t be easy or inexpensive to craft.
I have to agree. I maxed my alchemy on all recipes ages ago on my mage, but my blacksmithing on my main is still way behind because of the amount of expulsom needed vs what you can gain. It’s not that the recipes should require less in my opinion but the sources you can gain it from needs help.
You need to clear uldir at least 4 times to craft that item . No one says anything about that. That should be the time consuming part not expulsom. Expulsom is just a way to make you hate your life for 4-5 hours
I recommend the “Easy Scrap” addon.
It makes this process just a little bit less tedious.
Some professions will be able to turn Sanguicell into Expulsom.
And Breath of Bwonsamdi into Sanguicell and that into expulsom.
So only use for end game resources will be turning them into useless trash.
Blizz
I’m still against the idea of BoP crafting materials, any BoP crafting materials like Blood of Sargeras, Expulsom, Hydrocore etc. should’ve been BoA instead. I’m swimming in Sanguicells and I’m afraid of vendoring them only because later they might make them useful by introducing something like the Blood Vendor in Legion.
Is it anything like the “Easy Obliterate” addon in Legion? It barely made it less tedious in Legion, with having to click each time I wanted to obliterate an item.
I’m not familiar with that addon so I cannot compare the two.
Easy Scrap needs a little bit of set up. You kinda have to make a couple of personal filters if you wanna make this process as quick as possible, but this is quite simple as well.
Once you are there the addon basically automatically fills the scrapper with the items based on the filter you set up. You still need to push the “scrap” button to scrap the 9 selected items, but that’s it.
Let’s say I craft 200 bracers. The addon is gonna Q all of them into the scrapper, all I have to do is press a button after every 9 scraped item.
Hope it makes it somewhat clear.
Easy Obliterate was for obliterum forge in Dalaran, but it didn’t do much other than giving an auto collect option for materials.
Thanks for the explanation. This one sounds pretty good though, I’ll definitely give it a try and most likely keep it if its half as useful.
How about you address the root cause instead of the symptoms?
“I keep slicing my fingers open” doesn’t need a “I use xxx brand of bandaid” as a response, it needs “Heres how you stop slicing your fingers open”.
I didn’t really use the Obliterum Forge in Legion, but if I remember correctly you could only put one item into that.
Scrapping for me is tedious because after crafting 200 bracers you have to put every single one into the scrapper. This addon saves this time.
You cannot “stop slicing your fingers open” but you can “use xxx brand of bandaid” to stop the bleeding.
Sure, make threads about how bad the scrapper is, I agree. But until you successfully convince Blizzard to rework this aspect of the game I’m gonna look for QoL addons.
But hey! Feel free trying to “stop slicing your fingers open” whatever this means to you.
I have to agree. I maxed my alchemy on all recipes ages ago on my mage, but my blacksmithing on my main is still way behind because of the amount of expulsom needed vs what you can gain.
I have to ‘well actually’ you on this, Blacksmithing is the one armorcrafting profession that does not need Expulsom to level up. 3-star recipes for Honorable Combatant gear only need the ores.
Other than that, yeah. For high-level crafting, having Expulsom be the bottleneck instead of the raid-exclusive reagent seems kinda backwards. We really should get Expulsom World Quests or an option to convert Hydrocore/Tidalcore and Sanguicell/Breath of Bwonsamdi into Expulsom (outside of Enchanting, which AFAIK will be the only profession able to do that in 8.1).
It’s what people call an analogy. Look it up. It means fixing the problem, not working around it. But sure, accept rubbish content and “Work around it”.
You don’t need to tell people theres addons for everything. It’s 2018 and we have the internet, we get that.
This whole thread is about a system that is bad, not about what addons make a bad system more tolerable.
I agree expulsom needs a rethink. As you say making it a little easier to get hold of such as a wq or emissary here or there. Also maybe make it Boa for classes like my gatherer alt who has quite a lot of it but no actual use for the stuff.
Which require you to do PvP. I don’t PvP and I don’t feel professions should be locked behind it.
This always happens as people spend more time at end game than they do levelling.
It still irks me that I could never get all my recipes to rank 3 in Legion because one of them was gated behind an RBG win. Even though I suffered RBGs for two days to get my mage tower recolour unlocked I never got the recipe drop for either enchanting or tailoring (the two proffs on my main). I hate having incomplete things on my main.
