Extended Raid ID - Patch 3.2.0 Call of the Crusade - Where is it?

Pretty much wondering why we don’t have the possibility to extend our Raid ID’s yet?

This game feature was added with Patch 3.2.0 Call of the Crusade which also introduced the Argent Tournament and Isle of Conquest.

Even tho we are at Patch 3.3.5 Blizzard have always delayed features to bring them to the game in line with how it was back then.

Did Blizzard said anything about why we can’t have it yet? And/or will we have it at some point?

Doubt they’ll ever add back such a “feature”, It was aimed for guilds progressing and no one progresses in Classic with content on farm from week 1.

Well, they at least can be upfront honest about it then? Why be so secretive about what you decide? At least give your playerbase transparency.

But oh wait, 20 years of malcommunication isn’t going to change in one day.

This is the first time here I’ve seen someone asking for this feature and I’m betting blizzard knows nobody cares about it.

Allright, guess I’m a nobody. Peace.

I wouldn’t be surprised if nobody at Blizzard even remembered that it existed.

Yeah, I think in instance summoning was added halfway TBC and that was never added.

They probably won’t add this considering botting in BT and the fact that this feature is pretty much useless for normal players nowadays.

Useless?

  • Mount farming (Yogg, Lich King)
  • Glaive Farming (BT)
  • Immortal Run (Selling/Sharing)
  • Undying (Selling/Sharing)
  • Access to Yogg for Valanyr Fragments (Without needed to do Vezax)
  • Prepping Lockouts for Glory of the Ulduar Raider (As in: kill the bosses none needs)

I mean surely if you’re a tad more creative you can come up with situations that are actually usefull.

Yeah, none of those make much sense. MAYBE using it to prep spare ID for achievement but it’s a niche within niche with minimal practical use. Other than that it’s just an opportunity for another service for gold spam in /trade which will benefit mostly bots and irani scammers. “Pretty much useless” fits pretty well imo.

None of those are possible with the raid extension cause as soon as you actually kill the boss it’s dead for that ID forever.

This wouldn’t change anything for any of those.

How does a extra week without reset help with any of these?

What do you think extending a ID does? And how would the things you listed, which are all done in less than a evening, benefit from it?

It’s pretty clear that he thinks extending the ID saves that position and then you can reload it whenever you want to.

Which of course isn’t what it does at all :stuck_out_tongue:

I found the entire concept of extending the ID very pointless even in the original Wrath. Why? Rather finish it on normal and use the drops next week on your hc progression.
In 2023 when everyone has everyting on farm it is downright laughable. Useless addition, I’m pretty sure virtually nobody misses it. I am surprised Blizz didn’t add it and made big deal out of it for that very reason :upside_down_face:

There was a slight point to it back in OG cause of the separation of normal and heroic ToC, but I think that’s about all people ever used it for.

Oh that’s right. I completely forgot about that. Most of my memories center on ICC which didnt have split ID. Either way it is pointless now.

Surely you can do that in one evening. I don’t see the point in extending a raid ID except maybe when you’re close to killing HC Lich King. But with everything dropping in a few hours like ulduar and TOC atm it’s of little to no use

Only thing extended lockout would do for those points, are to give yourself more time to sell them.
Im assuming you believe you can just sell the lockout to multiple buyers, while your alt sit with the lockout and extend every week, but that does not work with the way raid id work in wotlk.

Has it any way, shape or form ever worked like that? It would be exploited to oblivion. Why would anybody even think it works like that?

Maybe Im naive, but I was thinking people use the internet to find out what they choose to make a fuss about on forums, before coming here saying “why isn’t anybody reacting to this” and going all defensive about it while having it all mixed up.

If it worked like OP thinks people would obviously have made their voices heared about it a long time ago, would have been a major impact on gameplay.

If something is to good to be true, it often is. And if you are the only one that takes notice, it definitely is.

Of course not, he just failed at reading what it does :stuck_out_tongue:
