Hello folks, i’m having really bad fps problems in raids.
Heres my specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 @3.2 GHz
GPU: RX580 Nitro+ 8GB 256Bit
RAM: 16GB 2666mhz
OS: Windows 10 64 bit.
Game installed in SSD.
I’m playing with lowest settings at 1080p resolution, all my drivers and addons are up to date, I have LUA errors open to see if any WA is problematic. Everything is fine outside raids but when i step inside all goes to hell. I’m talking about sub 30 fps in some combats. I know i dont have a super strong rig to run WoW but I’m playing most of the games at way high settings with constant 60+ FPS. Its almost like I’m playing with my 8 years old laptop.
I also know that my CPU isnt strong enough but is there anyone out there playing the game(at least 20M raid) with this cpu with no FPS problems?
Is there anything i could do to improve my FPS?
Thanks in advance.
It should burn through the game so something is not quite right…
- did you checked thermals of the system, GPU/CPU clocks?
-
- run Userbenchmark, +when game is running and you see problems - check percentile results of your components - low percentile may indicate performance problem with that part
- is the SSD almost full by any chance?
- did you check your network connection? traceroute to blizzard server your client is connecting to (they have a tutorial somewhere)
- What’s your power supply, maybe some current limitations drop clocks (which userbenchmark will show on percentiles)

My test-bench Has a ryzen 3 1200 that runs at about 45-60 FPS on medium-high settings in raids, so it shouldn’t be your CPU.
What are your other Addons? Maybe Details! with the lowest refresh or so?
Could also be a RAM bug?
First gen Ryzen boards had some issues where they’d limit your ramspeed to 1566MHz, doublecheck your BIOS that all your hardware works as it should
I edited the specs on my first post, I have 16GB RAM not 8GB.
- UserBenchmarks here:

Literally everything including SSD seems to be performing below expectations according to site. I have no idea why.
- According to CPUID HWMonitor everything is normal on temp wise.
- SSD has 28 GB empty space.
- Connections shouldnt be a problem, everything is smooth till fight starts, and outside of raid(dungeons, world, PvP etc.)
- Power Supply: FSP Hydro 600W 80+ Bronze
- I’ve updated the drivers including BIOS, rams are working normal, i had that problem when i first installed the rams though.
These are the addons I have, highlighted ones are the heavy weight addons, rest are trivial.

Deadly Boss Mods
This could be one of problems (SSDs reaching close to full capacity loose performance). If one of the addons (or the game) tries to write to SSD may hit slow writes and then lag the game - although addons itself can cause such problems sometimes.
Check:
- No addons (if it helps you can start enabling them to find the culprit)
- WoW on different drive
I had friends having similar problems with SSD in the past but that was always with almost full(like <5 GB) SSD and auto combat logs taking too much space when it gets out of hand. But 28 GB should be enough and I have auto combat log option closed in Exorsus. I used to have WoW on HDD and it was pretty much same with longer loading screen.
Did you check your BIOS? and did disabling addons help with the lag?
I checked the BIOS everything seems to be running normal, I havent been able to test it without addons tho, since its only in Raids and I’ll be on mythic orgozoa tonight which crush my FPS to single digits when the “dribbling ichor” ability comes in, i’ll try it there.
Edit: I’ve tried without any addons and result is still same. I tried all of them one by one and after somepoint i just gave up and disabled all of them but i still had very low FPS. I dont think it has anything to do with addons, something that has a huge impact on performance would’ve spam LUA errors like crazy.
Any other ideas? I’m starting to thing CPU upgrade is the last solution.
SECOND EDIT: Just realised this is only happening on MYTHIC diffuculty. It was chaotic at 30 man HC too but that was normal, did 21 man HC Orgozoa today and everything was fine but extreme FPS drops started at Mythic orgozoa again…
