I think you can skip the whole intro thing towards getting into korthia on alts.

No, you can skip directly to korthia with alts. 
Sadly buying tokens still requires friendly with death’s advance, so it’s not quite as easy to just bring all alts over and at least spend the stygia before abandoning them.
Covenant story quests after that have to be done on all alts again sadly - at least if you want to unlock more than the three dailies for them.

I thought it was account wide, but had to check, and yes I was correct, do it on one character and it has gone on all.
When you log in an alt on 9.1 after completing the quests on another character, you go to oribos and when you are told to speak to Bolvar, he has a skip option. This opens up Korthia and skips all the prequests including the eye of the jailer unlock and mounts in the maw.
HOWEVER… Renown catchup applies with those quests. I got 5 on my alts on Saturday which was a very quick catch up, along with a lot of anima and reputation.
If you choose NOT to skip, you do have eye of the jailer and can’t mount in the maw until you unlock that when you reach Korthia and open the waystone. When you defeat (scare off) the eye, the eye of the jailer is removed.

After doing it on main you can tell Bolva to skip the intro thus not needing to do the questline.
Yeah, I did that with my first alt and when I realized how much I missed out on, I did the storyline on all my others. It skips an awful lot.
On the very first 9.1 quest you start, you can skip all the way to Korthia. It skips the first three chapters of the campaign.
It’s a pain with the eye of the jailer and multiboxing… so for me totally worth it

If you use the skip option it’s all done for you, you just do Korthia. I skipped on one alt and she is much lower tier than the other two alts that went through the storyline.
If you want to do the storyline on alts then you have to repeat the quest.
You miss out on a single weapon and whatever rep you miss is factored into the fact that you don’t get immediete access to the regular dailies if you play the storyline. The quests you do in Korthia during the unlock questline replace your dailies for that day and whatever you get from the Assault you do as part of the chain is what you would have gotten anyway… It’s similar to the 8.3 unlock questline in that sense, back then you actually did an Assault and a Vision with full regular rewards as part of the guest chain to unlock Assaults and Visions… And people still complained they needed to do that before they could do Assaults and Visions… People are dumb sometimes.
And 2 pieces of armour for alts ,remember not everyone has high geared alts .

No, I can’t link to myself doing the intro quest on my main and the skip on my alts. If you need another stranger on the internet to tell you something before you believe it’s true, you’ll have to do it on your own.
In that particular instance, everything was spelled out in game. You did the Assault as part of the chain and got rewards from doing an Assault. People still complained they couldn’t do the Assault. There isn’t much more you could have clarified on that, beyond maybe ‘doing the Assault means you are doing the Assault’ and I’d have to honestly say, the moment we start seeing that kind of tooltip in the game is the moment I quit.
Also, it’s pretty amusing you are complaining about 3rd party sites immedietely after asking me for a link to a 3rd party site before you believe sh!t that’s in the game is in the game.
