Anyone else is unable to get a flying reindeer?

Flying raindeer have not worked for the last year.

I have killed my self by mistake several times during the summer/autumn with leftover holly. basically the flying deer works as long as you do not change zone/area. As soon as you change area it “respawn” the deer thing and make it a ground mount.

Yeah they screwed it. Im in blade edge mountains trying to turn my flying mount into a flying reindeer but it doesnt work. I have tried both preserved holly and fresh holly but it only changes it into a normal grounded reindeer

Same here. The reindeer cant fly and I cannot complete the quest. And this achievement is a requirement for the title and the mount. I hope they fix it because this is the last title I need for the mount :frowning:

I found this post on the US forums (posted today) and it exactly describes the problem. I hope Blizzard fix it as I want the meta achievement!
"The achievement for Winter Veil, [Fa-la-la-la-Ogri’la], is currently not functioning. When you use [Preserved Holly] to transform your mount, it gives you a ground only mount (and plunges you out of the sky if you already flew up before the transformation happened). If you try to run up to the quest area on foot and use the [Skyguard Bombs], it says you cannot use that item here.

I completed the bombing run using a regular mount without the [Preserved Holly] buff, popped the buff before turning in the quest, and did not receive the achievement, despite this working in original WotLK: https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/achievement=1282/fa-la-la-la-ogrila#comments:id=511020" (I believe it won’t work because the reindeer still isn’t a flying mount).

Hello there.

Well… You actually able to get that achievement.

  1. Take daily quest “Bomb them again”;
  2. Go to the field using your regular flying mount;
  3. Bomb the shells until you get 14/15;
  4. After launching the last projectile, immediately activate Fresh Holly before the bomb hit the ground.
    After that action you will fall to the ground BUT! when you turn your quest back you will get your achievement.

UPD: Apparently you can also get the achievement if you use Fresh Holy before turning in the quest.

I tried using the holly before turning the quest in, didnt work for me

Could be. I recommend trying the previous method I described. It works 100% of the time.

Looks like it’s been hotfixed for now
I messaged Dara D on twitter and she said this:
“Hey friend, we’re still investigating why this is happening, but in the mean time “Fa-la-la-la-Ogri’la” achievement can be completed by being mounted on either the flying or non-flying Reindeer upon quest turn in.”
