Faction Balance

Does anyone know if there is going to be even one pvp server with faction balance?

This is a complete mess :joy:

No. The imbalance is a community problem and it’ll always be there.

There was until the horde ran away from it like little girls. The majority of PvP realm players, I won’t call them PvP players as most don’t PvP, like to be on a realm dominated by one faction.

For alliance that’s Firemaw and for horde it’s every other PvP realm.

Dude every one playing at blizzard know that the alliance run from the battle not horde. And this problem when show up from blizzard transfer all alliance from gehenass jump in firemaw 8 month ago and 2month after that all horde play from firemaw jump in gehenass. Actually its blizzard who do that and the juke player who jump around

No.

It’s called herd mentality and it’s part of human psychology.

Blizzard could have regulated (or stopped) paid character transfers to reduce or prevent damage, but they didn’t.

With your logic, the best solution would be to simply delete all servers and have no game at all.

So going from a 60/40 to 99/1 A/H wasn’t the horde jumping ship? Gehennas was 10/90 A/H or worse before they left. Please tell me more about this flawed logic of yours.

The best solution would be to merge the top alliance and horde servers and grab some popcorn.

That would make far too many layers and then these layers would be come all horde or all alliance.

That is some top level mental gymnastics right there, congrats, you get a gold star.

It is a community problem and Blizzard helped cement it. Months ago when all the horde were on the forums crying how they can’t play BGs because the factions were imbalanced, Blizzard just enabled them and gave them same faction BGs. That ensured the problem would not fix itself. If they had held on and said no, eventually enough of the whiny ones would have swapped sides so they could actually play the BGs. A few people would have quit the game, but if they didn’t love the game, they would have quit years ago.

What would be the benefit to rolling a new horde character on the ally dominated realm? You already have BGs, you’ll be outnumbered, you wont have an AH, you wont have people to group with and will have a terrible time to get to 70. The only benefit is that if they eventually get to max level and gear up, they’ll have plenty to kill. The community simply refuses to fix the problem it created. If you think there is a faction imbalance on your realm then switch sides. Don’t lie about all the friends you don’t have that you don’t want to leave behind and what not.

A server merge wont fix this. Unless they merge all the PvP servers into 1 and say that’s your lot, nothing will change because of all the handholding and headpatting those poor little horde got. Actually even if you merge all of them together, the alliance side would probably just bugger off to PvE because they’d be outnumbered again.

There is a way to fix the problem. Nobody will like it, but it will be a fix that will work. Queues. Enforce faction queues to ensure balance. Make a fresh realm and enforce that queue and you will either see a dead realm because people don’t want balance or you will see a lively forum full of people complaining that they can’t play with their friends that they don’t have.

Thank you.

The fix would have been to never have PCT at all. It’s great in theory but ultimately it was abused by players seeking the path of least resistance. And then snowball-effect.

If something can be abused in a game, it most certainly will, no matter the community. Alas, It’s not a community problem but a dev problem.

Well you surely can see into the past rather well.

And your brilliant solution to the problem now?

Blizz could have locked realms for one faction, locked realms on 3-4k pop max, get rid of those stupid useless layers …

Instead they let people randomly transfer to random realms, to completely ruin everything, just so they can make few more coppers …

Dont tell me that blizz allowing loophole for horde to leave to one of the biggest horde realms, is somehow the fault of players …

We could all witness it realtime as it went on for months, but nothing was done from a dev perspective. No need to be condescending about it.

Now it’s too late to fix, unless with brute force. Next classic iteration we can only hope the majority rolls PvE instead.

What mess? Players happily raiding on their servers and not complaining seems like harmony, not mess

Noone forced them to search and find and use the loophole, they could have stayed there, there was 15 thousands horde there

Why would they stay on locked, dying realm, with ques, lags and filled to brim with bots and gdkp spammers …

I know its the same on gehenas now, but if you see blizz ruining the game with every touch they make, why wouldnt you take advantage of it ?

I am still “stuck” with alliance chars on gehenas and horde chars on firemaw, and before you say you could create new chars on firemaw, well I have more than one acc, so even if I wanted to pay them, which I dont want, I would still be unable to bring my chars where I want …

Yeah, not that easy fixing things is it? Yes I have been slightly hostile with my responses, because look at this cesspool of a forum. Its either 2 sides calling each other fools for not seeing things their way or its a post full of people agreeing that things aren’t as good as they should be. Nobody ever has any suggestions of how to fix things, because its just easier to complain.

I see 2 ways to fix this. One I mentioned, enforce faction queues. The other is just remove same faction BGs. Both options would fix the problem.

I don’t see free or paid transfers fixing this since once the overabundance of horde all cram into the ally server, the ally can just bail to one of the empty realms.

So what else is there? There seems to be a demand for PvP realms and I don’t think there can be an non-intrusive way to fix them because the people on them want to be on the winning side.

Faction queues open new problems like half of your guild cant login for raid, this would be big outrage about it.
Same faction bgs were in big demand and Blizzard had to enable it.
There is just no fix for this this problem, faction based mmo cant work so everyone is happy.
Only pve servers exist in peace and without drama. Thats why retail got warmode.
