the whole world is horde now in eu classic, faction change will at least give people the option to be the other faction, especially since human racial is great in wotlk, it both fixes the imbalance between the factions and give people a reason to roll alliance, the game needs it, even though the main goal isn’t to only roll alliance to have the human racial but what did blizzard give the alliance for racials anyway? pretty much nothing except for that human racial, so it’s on blizzard why the issue is the racial trinket, so with the faction change you will both fix the imbalance and give the alliance a fighting chance and let people like me play with their guilds/community, if blizzard wants people to roll alliance not only for the human racial then they better fix the racials now instead of getting us to wait a decade to provide us with the retail revamp, which i highly doubt people care about anything past wotlk lol…
If they implement faction change i’d expect them to let people faction change for free on servers like gehennas and firemaw.
Never, as now people are seeing raid loges and realized how OP Horde racial are for PvE, specifically Troll (20% extra haste) Unholy Deathnight Dual Wield seeing how the 51 ability (summon Gargoyle) has no haste cap and dose slightly less than half the DK dmg lol -design overlook or flaw.
@Blizzard - any idea of a date when this will take place? balancing out servers this way might be a good idea
bump - please give us a date… we do not want all Phase 1 to be over and get to ulduar to be able to change…
WoW its not only PvE. Humans got ultimate racial for PvP in WotLK, so many people will transfer to Alliance side.
Still no news regarding a date for faction/race change?

As long as they’re limited to around every 6 months or so I see no reason they couldn’t happen right now. They should have the functionality to do it because it’s available on the current retail client and was available during original Wrath.
I met some old friends that are playing on the opposite faction and would be nice to meet in game and play together

How do people level and gear a character to the teeth and then they go, “wait a second… I just realised my friends were on the opposite faction this whole time and I had no idea! D’oh!”???
I genuinely want to know.
Simple. You don’t coordinate with them or aren’t in touch with them when you begin playing. Then you actually see them either through battle net tag or random discussion on discord and you learn they also started playing, by coincidence in same server even just in opposite faction.
That’s just complete ineptitude on you and your friends’ behalf.
If you’re friends and you intend to play the game together, you probably communicate that at some point before you get full BiS.
i wanted to switch factions cuz i found a guild there, not because of friends… it’s not always about friends, i have always like alliance more than horde and only went horde for my friend but he plays his game differently than myself, i dont even usually play with him in a group lol, just join discord and talk now, but i got alts on horde to play with him, stop seeing the issue from one angle, there are many other reasons you don’t know about
Why did you make a character on the opposite faction than your friends in the first place? Oh right, you did not, you just want to be Human now instead of Undead.
Made 2 R14 on Vanilla Classic, Guild / IRL Friends switched to another server and other faction for TBC and this server died, now on the server I’m playing on has my horde character and my 2 R14 alliance are chilling waiting for the faction change.
If it comes P3, it would be better to never give it at all. Way too late

Any update on when / if Faction changes will be made available in WoTLK Classic, this would be great for players who are wanting Both faction end game play but currently have no interest in Dragon flight.

no i wanna go human because my friend quit playing wow and only raid logs, barely even does that either, and have always wanted to go alliance since classic vanilla but only went horde for friend, now that he doesn’t play, might as well just go alliance, not everyone plays alliance for the sake of human racial, i wanted alliance since day 1
Well, if you faction change you have to race change, there are not orcs on the alliance side.
