You can feel it around Heroic raiding and 15-ish keys too, though.
I consider +15s quite high, but that may be my misdefinition.
Heroic raiding, I take your word for it. Although on an Alliance-heavy realm I noticed enough active raid-guilds. Pugging may be another story.
I thought that by ‘high’ keys, you meant stuff like 20+… where the situation would be even more dire for Alliance players.
I was trying to pug the raid early into the tier (quite dedicated to that, spending a ton of time in LFG), and around week2 I could count the amount of Alliance pugs that got any far into heroic on the fingers of one hand.
Just merge factions, it’s an outdated concept, it makes no longer sense lore wise, let us have double people to play with, and let me play my dwarf
Ok, so here is my current main :
https://raider.io/characters/eu/kirin-tor/Hir%C3%B8ki
Here is my previous main during late BFA :
https://raider.io/characters/eu/kirin-tor/Hirolock
And that character reached Mythic Azshara 3rd console.
This char is no longer my main and is only my forum mouth because TL system is really bad and I’m not doing mythic progress atm because I’ve learn my lesson from 8.3 : if I have to sleep 3 hours per night in order to keep up with both IRL and raiding, then I should be dropping raiding. I can’t commit myself now to raiding so I won’t risk my health just for a game.
Once I’m done with that IRL stuff I will of course jump back into Cutting edge raiding.
Sadly, I’ve seen HC guilds moving Horde because they don’t want to resort on pugs to fill their roster.
Blizzard will buff Alliance racials the moment they realize just how much microtransaction money will pour in with faction change from all the desperate fotm kids playing Horde nowadays.
preach’s video’s are too long and boring
I took a break from my hc raiding guild (alliance) and they tried to recruit a new healer to fill my spot for an entire month (then i returned). Its getting harder to recruit on casual level aswell i guess.
Lol, really? That’s kind of sad.
To be fair, the problem isn’t the amount of players. Ideally 3000 endgame players online should be enough. That’s a lot of people. But the number of dungeons is insane. 8 dungeons x26 keys, that’s 208 dungeons to pick from, and one player can hold a random key, and many players will hold duplicates.
The population imbalance is a problem, don’t get me wrong - I hate having to fight on the alliance side to get anything less than a 15 minute queue in random battlegrounds. I wish Blizz would fix it, but considering the depth of the issue and how its roots are found in decade old design decisions, I don’t think fixing it would be as easy as buffing racials. I absolutely think we need an alliance-centric expansion, where the main good guys are the alliance and the main villain is from the alliance, too.
Along with some metacompetition between the factions, where there’s rewards for being a less populated faction. Territory control would be a good solution in my opinion - the alliance players fight for control over the eastern kingdoms and the horde fights for control over Kalimdor. The horde with its massive population will have much tougher competition within itself, and the alliance will have it easier initially, until enough from the horde transfer to balance it out.
I did read his OP and found it interesting
The main issue i got with that solution is ok it keep the faction but it just give horde +25% more queue, but alliance is not able to join horde group ( that represent 75+% of the faction representation.
So it push just a bit but do not solve the issue completly.
I fear that solution is not viable until 7 year to balance LFG in both faction.
Why to be limited to half of the current LFG because of faction when we can play all together ?
I am more open to the break faction barrier due to that. It’s allow directly to balance faction, and maybe later blizzard will balance more in depth racial to avoid elitist of racial/spec combo.
Lol no, I’ve done plenty of hc raiding and +15s this season, there is no issue for the average player. This entire discussion is baffling, but I guess people are allways looking to create problems where they don’t exist.
Breaking the faction barrier would be equal to declaring the game dead and forgotten. WoW will go f2p before that happens, and Blizz knows it.
Troll? Did you bite the bullet and transfer?
I wish they’d remove the factions limits for instanced content. It doesn’t make any sense nowadays anyway, both gameplay and lore-wise. Keep the faction systems for the nerds who have their horde or alliance tattoos for war mode which they prolly don’t use anyway. They could just make the factions like the Covenants, basically something you root for but doesn’t necessarily make you at war with the others. It would also allow a whole new “Neutral” dimension.
But well, not gonna happen. Bobby K has to milk every faction change and playing time spent leveling alts on the opposite faction instead of making the game for the players and not the shareholders.
They say it’s an issue they’re aware of and that they’re looking into it, but they brought this situation on themselves. They allowed racial abilities and passives to have such a weight, since the very beginning of this game and they just let the imbalance grow year after year, swinging the powers between H and A by pure greed. Now they have to face the reality that no band-aid fix will solve the issue.
And let me play my 10 Blood Elves!
I like the idea of mercenary, except the whole race changing part, if i have to endure my character having the race changed during an instance i’d rather not have cross faction PvE at all.
There’s nothing lore breaking about Horde and Alliance heroes fighting together against a common foe inside a Dungeon or a Raid, just let our characters be and look the way they’re supposed to while playing with the other faction.
Yup! Well to be fair Tifa started out as a Tauren until mop
With current attitude to the factions, when they merge factions will big racists problem, especially from horde players.
However in lore factions working together whole time. Only players are divided. Even in BFA which was about factions war i didn’t feel this war. Only epic war moment was cinematic from siege of Undercity. They didn’t allow in any moment to feel it’s real war, game is lack of big changes made by war, only Undercity in exchange for Teldrasil. Ach and maybe blowing this Jaina’s town i don’t remember name.
Anyway alliance need some love at this moment.
