Has anyone ever swapped factions on a high pop realm to the other faction? I know it doesn’t really matter these days but have any of you regretted it?
I play on twisting nether but I really fancy my main to be a dwarf. Not sure whether I would regret that choice. I went to stormwind on a char trial and there was 2 people and 1 boost seller and I was rethinking my choice but today I was in org and there was literally 5 people. Everyone seems to be in the new city only these days.
I did not exactly swap, i just started making void elves on tarren mill/dentarg. I don’t really regret it, no. I’d rather be on argent dawn because i like the community more there but otherwise not really ^^
The only things you’d really be losing out on are crafting orders from your main faction but you can always swap and look at trade if needed
I realm transferred a dwarf character from Ravencrest (high alliance) to Draenor (high horde) for raiding, and the only thing I notice is that all the characters have orange names when I’m out and about in the world. It hasn’t affected playing the game in any way.
The only thing that can be awkward if your faction is in the minority on your server is finding people to make crafted items. You have to create a character of the dominant faction to find a crafter through trade chat (because trade chat is faction limited), then you can place an order from the character that actually needs it.
factions in general were always awkward, but they used the “war” to justify them. Now the justification has expired and I hope they will start removing more barriers to gameplay and interaction
Our guild is a mix of all sorts, people just go for bis races or whatever they prefer the most. Faction no longer matters. We recruit from either faction as well. Going forward in TWW realm wont even be a factor for guilds.
The only limitations atm is you can only do PuG content with your fellow Horde guildmates. So if you want to blast through some TW dungeons for a weekly quest or LFR you can only queue with your Ally guildmates.
I switched. I made this char dwarf. It should be done when I get home from work it was processing the change. I will be sticking with the same server for now. Just as I have a few max level toons on here and I run the gold and dragon riding WQs on them for gold farming
You’re right, if you have a guild with the crafters it’s no problem, if you rely on the puplic chat, it is a bit harder, as you don’t see horde advertisement for it …
So for twisting nether for example, you’d have to log a horde to find someone to do it, or you might have to wait for quite a long time.
idk if they changed it since its been a long time since i faction changed. But when i factionchanged around MoP i lost some achievements/pets/mounts. Like for example the brewfest mounts. And racechanging also seemed to make sure i couldnt do the racial heritage armor quests on these characters
So personally i would just advise you to make a new char if you want to swap faction.
