can anyone explain why it literally doesn’t matter if you are Horde or Alliance anymore? I see mixed guilds, can go to dungeons with the other faction, warband works inter-factionwise… And horde has a… council?!
What has happened? What the point of factions at this point?
Factions are pretty much a customisation option. You are no longer tied to having to be specific races to play with your friends.
A few limitations still exist. Levelling together still works best if you are the same faction. Automatic queued content like LFR requires you to be the same faction. Dungeons can be queued for in a mixed faction group but you need to be a full five man premade group.
If you ever liked story and character in WoW, abandon hope. Over the past four expansions, they have destroyed both, and show every sign of continuing. They have decided that Azeroth must be a safe space for people who demand safe spaces.
You can still get your PvP fix in BGs, though again those can be cross-faction. But you can pretend. And you can switch to PvP mode in the world.
TBF, there was significant demand for cross-faction guilds, and cross-faction parties mesna you get queues and groups a lot faster. So there is justification for that.
Other than the crying shame of beautiful elves being held hostage by an otherwise ragtag bunch of hideous creatures, it’s now really a choice in whether you enjoy living in bricks and mortar or prefer mud huts.
Sounds absolutely horrible. Blizzard smashed what World of Warcraft was about entirely. Even the stupid LFR is just a thing more to ditch community building at all. What a shame. I had high hopes.
