No, no and no. Even if we find a spec which doesn’t use magic, they’re usually still using strong artifacts to increase their power.
Everyone who’s not a civilian can usually cast a spell or two.

I don’t know what makes her so “dependent” as you like to say from having a prosthetic and isn’t she just as dependent on her shield when she wears it, so why is that ok but a prosthetic is not? Presumably any maintenance required could be done by her with her right arm. Even if it would stop functioning its not like she would have forgotten how to use her right arm. When it comes to fighting if anything would happen to here shield she would still have an arm underneath, maybe even pick up a new one nearby, or a weapon.
But I suppose screaming for the “champion” to find her a new shield mid fight and slap it on her is how she can be more independent?
I don’t see how having an arm vs. not having an arm is not just a flat upgrade any way you twist and turn.
Just say you hate black people OP. That wuld make the debate easier. We had non europeans and disabled people before none of the stuff Faerin stands for is lore breaking or bad. Accept her and move on.
I don’t like Faerin because she is a Mary Sue. Most people after a war suffer from some kind of mental illness. By being blind in the left eye she is basically crippled from that side.
I don’t know how she can even carry that shield with a cut arm. She doesn’t look muscular enough to be able to wield the shield. So blind and crippled woman IS on the front lines LEADING? Yea right…
You got me! Must be amazing to be so incredibly smart as to figure out someone is a racist even though I didn’t mention race once! Can we have a round of applause for Mr. galaxybrain over here?!
Just want to be clear. What I’ve written above was sarcasm, I’m not confident you would figure that out on your own. OK, sarcasm over…
I didn’t mention lore because yea, it’s not lore breaking. Her choices and and the way she acts is unrelatable and unbelievable in a holier than thou I’m perfect kind of way and that makes her unlikable. That was my only point.
Here we go again No, she’s not a Mary-Sue.
She’s just a secondary character with an extraordinary faith. She’s neither a multi-talent, nor does does she teach Anduin anything he didn’t know about the Light, she’s rather giving him advice that is based on her own story. Basically “If the Light doesn’t shun a crippled stowaway that was despised by her own family, why would it shun you?”
So her only “superpower” in that regard is to help Anduin overcome his self-doubts and to realize that it’s not the Light who has been avoiding him, but the other way around.
Please, take a close look at your avatar. Do her arms look in any way muscular enough to wield two swords / glaives?
Now, that you’ve done that… go to a barber, take off her blindfold and you’re in for a surprise.
What do you mean as a Demon hunter I sacrificed everything to my inner demon. Even my eyes were replaced so I can see different
So you’re using magic to balance out the lack of eyes? Guess what Faerin does:
Afaik, nobody called her the best warrior of the Arathi or anything like that - she’s just a Lamplighter who grew up in this cave and happens to embody the second Virtue of the Human’s Light religion like only a few do: Tenacity. Which made her the perfect companion for Anduin in this questline, since he struggles with own worth and value after what he went through in the Maw.
Where is the proof that her disadvantages are being re-inforced by the the light? Because that is what she can use. Most of the time she acts like a normal soldier who is not using the light. From what I see she doesn’t use the light to carry the weight of the shield so she needs muscle and training. She doesn’t look like the orc women. Those are muscle mommies From WoD the Shattered hand clan is something I like. They don’t use magic and are true warriors. I don’t see the same thing in Faerin.
Kargath lost a hand. Kilrogg lost an eye. Most Trolls are clearly inspired by africa and mesoamerica. Folks screech at everything humans with isn’t an european knight in full plate armor.
Well, you can see her “blind” eye glowing in the cinematic. And I’m not saying that her disadvantages are being “reinforced”, I’m saying that she probably uses her divine magic to compensate for them, since her belief is very strong. Regarding the shield, she only needs to use her shoulder to get it into place, I doubt that she’s very flexible with it.
My point is: In a world where an elf with a fragile Barbie-like build can best a muscular warrior twice her size with the help of magic, you can’t really argue with the “realism” of disabled half-elven Light Wielders.
You hate them to. Stop acting as if you became woke of all sudden.
I hate the Arathi at large because there was zero reasons to squish even more humans into a story out of nowhere. I have no specific against Faerin like she has all the stuff other characters used before so I am not bothered by her existing on her own.
You can blame Sylvanas for this, Erevien.
Instead of stopping at Teldrassil, she should’ve genocided Stormwind, Argent Crusade and Arathi, while she had that incredible plot armor, given to her by fanboy narrator.
You know exactly that other characters werre portrayed in a different way. They haven’t portrayed any form of struggle or so called “independence” from the likes of Kargath, since disability was never really a part of their personality but the craziness which lead to it.
Im seeing Arathi being a plotpoint into more into the extremism of light which im all for. Scarlet crusade in steroids otherwise i dont care for these aesthetics never liked light itself as a force
Also Faerin itself feels like generic modern disney charachter nothing more , dragonflight was full of em
Problem with this character is that they wanted it more on a poster than in an actual story. We all know why, so I won’t get into that. However, they killed off several possible avenues that could have endeared this character to the player like very few other characters managed, but instead they chopped off her arm and gave her a Wesley Snipes haircut. Again, we know why.
The saddest part is how many, especially at US forums, are convinced she’s not only a great character; but also not a tokeniser-made character.
People have gotten fooled by the wool cover of the wolf, for sure.
To be honest, as tokenized as she may be… I have a hard time seeing that as a problem for Warcraft. I mean… sure, that her disability is one of the most interesting things about her speaks more for a cardboard cutout than for an enchanting personality… But we’re talking Warcraft. If she were more interesting she’d be the exeption, not the norm. I certainly don’t mind asking for more than mediocre characters, but I do feel that she specifically only draws that criticism or the same reason that she was included in the first place, and not because she is uniquely harmful to Warcraft or it’s ruin of a story. I don’t find that to be very interesting, if we aren’t getting deeper into the politics here… which we really shouldn’t.
