Fake whisper from blizzard gm?

hey,
i dont remember if i ha this problem in the past but i went afk in the AC and when i came back i had a whisper from a guy named Blizzard but in my language.
idk how to post a pic here so i translated:
whispers: [Blizzard Entertainment] 「M: Violation: Exploitation of the in-game economy. Visit: (web link) otherwise we will suspend your account.
is this fake or not? because as i remember gms dont msg anymore?

It’s fake. I hope you didn’t click on the link. Blizzard don’t threaten to suspend your account, they just do it. You wouldn’t be able to log in game if this happens and you would recieve an email about your ban from an offcial source.

It’s a fake. When a game master messaging you in game, their chat has two steps.

  1. at the top right corner you see a Blizzard logo and a GM window where you can click.
  2. all chats with a game master are happen in a new standalone pop up window
    And most importantly: GMs introduce their selfes and they have a tiny BLIZZ icon before their name.

Never ever click or visit a link what a player send to you, especially when they call themselves as a game master or a blizzard employee.

I’d say you need more than changing your password. Run an antivirus and malware scan to make sure you’re not compromised.

This. The website probably was “working” it could have been compromising your pc. Did you enter any details?

no it just said error site can’t be reached

That doesn’t mean it hasn’t downloaded something nasty onto your computer. Best to do a deep scan with an up to date anti-virus.

That’s good and as long as you didn’t enter any details (username or password) you should be fine.

ahh no no it never asked it was an error like u know when u load a web or youtube and it says site cant be reached
like when u lose wifi connection
