Based on the article from Feb 19th 2025 I decided to reactivate my second wow account in order to move my Cata classic character over to my main account as it clearly states " Transfer characters between World of Warcraft® realms or accounts".
Turns out that this was false and that you can not transfer characters between wow accounts on the same bnet account when dealing with classic progression, despite the article saying so.
I request that you either move my one and only classic Cataclysm character (Hunter) on my second wow account (WoW1) to the main one, or refund the character transfer.
I don’t think it’s possible to move classic characters between accounts, but you can ask for a refund.

Yeah, found that out the hard way after digging through some pages where said restriction is hidden behind a couple of clicks in the support section.
Theres no info about this restriction in the shop itself, only that you cant transfer between different classic versions like classic Era to Cataclysm etc, and that “Certain restrictions apply” which is something you see on pretty much every online purchase these days.
You dont really expect a restriction like that to exist when you’re used to retail transfers and then see a sales article specifically saying that account transfers is possible in Cata classic.
Hey Hoofíe,
You can indeed request a refund for a character service if it hasn’t been used, and there shouldn’t be any issue to get your money back.
You can find our Refund policy on our website if needed.
On the topic of a warning about the restrictions, and if you check the blog that you linked, you can see the following message in the “Character Transfer Packs”:
You can then find more information about the restrictions in the “WoW Classic Progression” tab of the support article:
Hope this helps clear things up!

Thanks for the reply.
I just want to point out that advertisement like this is most likely illegal in several countries. You cannot state one thing on the front page of an advertisement, and then contradict that information with some footnote buried in page 3 in a support page for said service.
I understand that this is probably just a bad copy-paste job from some old retail article, but this stuff needs to be corrected when the article is re-posted as a classic progression advertisement.
This is also not the first time Blizzard has done this, and it should be fixed. I’ve seen multiple people complain about the misleading information in this article, and I’m not the first one who has had this issue.
I know this isnt your guys’ fault, but it might be a good idea to contact the people responsible so it can be corrected.
