False alarm: According to reddit, Heirloom equipment has been disabled in Timewalking-dungeons

This isn’t confirmed yet but just in case everyone is interested into the newest scandal, drama or false alarm:

reddit com/r/wow/comments/cnmhw0/fun_detected_looks_like_heirloom_gear_is_not/

tested just now. killed two packs of the same creatures, 1 with XP gear on and 1 with; both yielded the same XP gains.

Edit* I was only using the level 90 gear. It was NOT leveled to max.

The reason why people freak out is likely because someone posted just 24 hours ago this topic:

reddit com/r/wow/comments/cn7vsx/psa_20_time_walking_dungeons_levels_a_110_to_120/

At the risk of being labelled an fanboi or white knight or shill but wasn’t it fairly obvious from the original reddit topic that this was a bug and was very likely to be patched as soon as it became apparent?

It’s not like levelling in BFA is all that hard but running a measly 20 TW dungeons is hardly likely to be intended is it.

Why should it be a bug? You earn Bonus EXP even outside and in regular dungeons? Why should Timewalkings be the big difference?

The rest of my reply explained why I think this was unintentional. I.e. the fact that you could skip the entire BFA levelling system by running a mere 20 TW dungeons.

So “skip” the most horrific leveling ever by doing 20 tw dungeons aka 5-10hours of playtime, that’s about the same as questing, seems normal.

It wasn’t unintentional the last seven to ten TW before, so why now?

To be honest it was a lot better levelling experience than TBC was or is. Even in it’s nerfed state TBC levelling is awful and that’s as nothing as having to grind out mobs to level just to leave The Barrens during Vanilla as a Tauren as all the zones connected to it, bar Durotar, were full of mobs that one shot you even after you’d completed all the quests in the Barrens.

If it was so widely know why was there suddenly a big Reddit thread about it yesterday which you kindly linked in the original post?

I don’t care for rhetoric postings or users who behave like they are 14, the discussion with you has found now its end. Apologies.

How am I behaving like I am 14? I asked a simple question, if it was so widely known beforehand why is there suddenly a big reddit thread about it 24 hours before it was ‘fixed’ by Blizzard? The obvious conclusion is that it was a bug, which wasn’t widely known about and wasn’t reported to Blizzard as being a bug until yesterday’s reddit thread.

This does not happen with capped lvl heirlooms (120).

Has been confirmed now:

120 heirlooms still give the exp boost

U mean 1 Hour, maybe 2 if u are slow in the head.

No, start a timer an average run takes 20mins. So 20 runs would be; 6.6 hours, so slower than questing.
